DEVELOPMENTS

  • TNT title match on tap to start this show and we get championship introductions in the ring--why do we not get this for other title matches? Especially women's world title matches?
    • Kevin's selling his left knee quite a lot in this opener after spamming several dives in the early goings. MJF is targeting it accordingly.
    • Kevin hits the UFO off the top but takes too long to crawl to the cover and makes a single-arm cover. MJF is able to escape.
    • MJF tries to make several covers off an Alabama Slam; the last time, Kevin kicks out at one. He's not done.
    • MJF now goes to the timekeeper's area and grabs the TNT title in full view of Bryce Remsburg. Remsburg takes the belt and hands it off to ringside; obviously, this is a diversion for MJF to go for the ring punch, but Kevin instead low blows him and rolls him up for the 3 count. MJF is bewildered, but gets up and chop blocks Kevin's bad knee. MJF is looming large over Kevin, but DARBY ALLIN descends from the rafters and hits MJF with the Scorpion Death Drop.
    • "You people suck! Darby, real typical--two peas in a pod, two lowlife cheaters getting along, huh? Jokes on you--I don't give a damn about Kevin Knight. That match doesn't even count--I was barely trying! The only thing I care about is MY Triple B." MJF wants a rematch for the world title, but he's still not put anything on the line. Darby says if he survives tonight, he's giving KEVIN a shot next week.
    • BRODY KING is now here. He gets nose to nose with MJF on the ramp before heading down to the ring. MJF is pissed. Brody says Darby's not going to survive tonight with the belt, but will honor Kevin's claim to a title shot next week if he wins.
  • Renee Paquette backstage with ADAM COPELAND and CHRISTIAN CAGE. Christian's got a fractured arm, but he says he's fine and that they accept the "I Quit" stipulation. Adam remarks that it was a quick acceptance given his history with that stipulation in AEW; Christian is firm that he never said it during their match.
  • SKYE BLUE and THEKLA are backstage. Thekla says she would love to stop calling people "dumb bitches" but there's just too many of them in AEW. Thekla's beaten both Windsor and Hayter individually now, and she tells the Birds to stick to their tag team.
  • Don Callis and MARK DAVIS take a few cheap shots on Ace Austin after the International title match but JUICE ROBINSON makes the save and they stop. KONOSUKE TAKESHITA comes out on stage and does the belt around the waist taunt and points to the Double or Nothing logo.
  • We get a video package showing a bunch of people fleeing a saloon. There's a "WANTED" poster featuring BANDIDO and a $100,000 reward. As the last guy thrown out of the saloon flees, the camera pans up to SWERVE STRICKLAND picking up one of the posters. PRINCE NANA hands him a digital camera and he snaps a picture of it.
  • The DEATH RIDERS are backstage. Daniel Garcia is telling us that this is how they train as Marina Shafir chokes out Wheeler Yuta on the ground. WILL OSPREAY, in a long-sleeve white shirt that's as tight as possible such as to accentuate his supple breasts, walks in. Mox is thrilled about this, and asks Will if he got cleared.
    • Will shakes his head no, but says he's going over to Japan anyway; the United Empire have a big title match coming up, and he's not letting them down. Moxley says "loyalty... you are too good to be true," then turns around and just pokes PAC in the stomach and makes a noise for some reason. PAC recoils at this.
    • Moxley tells Will that he needs him to drop everything. Everything in his brain that clouds his vision, everything in his heart that tugs at his heartstrings, all the anger that burns a hole in his stomach, any excess baggage he's holding onto. Most of all, he wants Will to drop his feelings about Mox. "I make no promises, I don't produce miracles, but when I make a commitment to something, I see it through all the way to the end. All I ask is the same in return."
    • Ospreay says "okay," Moxley is pleased, and Will and PAC stare at each other for a moment. Will asks where the ring is. Moxley says they don't train using a ring.
  • FTR are here to watch Cage & Cope ringside. Stokely is on commentary.
    • Midway through this match, Stokely is celebrating a downed Christian when we see the AEW World Trios Champions THE CONGLOMERATION appear behind him in the crowd. Stokely takes a swing at Orange, who ducks and hits him over the top of the head with his popcorn. The brawl is on, with the Conglomeration fighting out of the arena with FTR. Rick Knox has no clue what to make of this.
    • Christian leaves the ring post-match and grabs a chair. It appears he wants revenge on Trent Beretta. He breaks the crossbar off the chair and hands it to Copeland, who puts Trent in a crossface. Christian holds the microphone up to Trent, who immediately says "I quit." Christian tells him he would never say that.
    • Christian grabs one of the tag title belts and parades around ringside with it. This pisses Rick Knox off really bad and he repossesses it. In the meantime, Adam has put Orange's popcorn bucket on his head and is now doing the same thing with the other tag title. Rick takes that title back, too, and Adam responds by chasing him to the announce desk before he leaves. We're just doing shit tonight.
  • Renee Paquette backstage earlier tonight with JERICHO. She asks if he thinks there's any validity to Ricochet's claim that the Rico-sault is superior to the Lionsault. Before he can finish answering, THE DEMAND jump him. Ricochet says he warned him that he needed to leave before he got himself hurt. Jericho says "eat shit" and GOA throw him into the side of a crate before feigning a makeshift "Rico-sault" over Jericho and saying he's "not even worth it."
  • Shida goes to use her kendo stick early in this tag title match. Stat, not willing to get her team disqualified, seizes it from her. This pisses Shida off. With Megan Bayne hung up in the corner, Shida responds by gut kicking her tag partner and suplexing her into Megan. I'm beginning to think maybe they can't coexist.
  • Renee Paquette backstage with Don Callis and ANDRADE EL ÍDOLOMJF interrupts her, though, and says that Andrade has ruined this company. It's Andrade's fault, he says, that Darby Allin is on a reign of terror. Andrade is now responding to everything MJF says with "how you know?" and this tilts MJF badly. They get into a brief shoving match before Don comes between them. He says business is business; Max doesn't have a belt right now so Andrade doesn't need to fight him, and Max needs to get the title back.
  • Renee Paquette backstage with THE OPPS. She asks Joe what the gameplan is moving forward. Joe says they intend to reassert their dominance over AEW, and that we're going to see the best version of Bowens going forward.
    • He also namedrops Will Ospreay as the prime target of their "strategic acquisition"--"You see, Will, I hope and I pray that you're not suffering from Stockholm syndrome, because those boys in the Death Riders, they had you in the very same position that they saved you from not too long ago, and you know who came and took you out of that? We did, Will. We had your back. So you have to ask yourself: what kind of relationship do you want? Do you want one of convenience, or one of confidence? Because The Opps are here, and the choice is yours."
  • FTR backstage. Stokely next week proposes a Double Jeopardy match next week: Orange Cassidy vs. Dax Harwood, winner gets a shot at the other's multi-man title. He brings in TOMMASO CIAMPA as their third for a trios title shot.
  • Brody's clearing off the announce desk; he takes the cover and leans it against the barricade. We see KEVIN KNIGHT watching from the crowd. Darby jumps on Brody's back and locks in a sleeper hold, so Brody responds by throwing his entire body into the announce desk cover and snapping it in half. MJF is also watching backstage.
    • Both Brody and Darby are now on top of the announce desk. Brody gets a sleeper locked in on the edge of the desk but Darby goes to the eyes to escape. Darby proceeds to jump back up and hit the Code Red on top of the desk. He goes tope suicida not long afterward.
    • Darby escapes from two really meaty lariats after eating a cannonball in the tree of woe.
    • Darby has Brody in the corner; he throws a few chops and headbutts him. He very quickly realizes that was a bad idea because Brody proceeds to biel him over the top directly into a cameraman. Brody then drags Darby across ringside as Darby claws onto the pads, pulling them up and exposing the concrete. He feeds to the railing after escaping the grasp of King, but manages to duck out of the way just before Brody obliterates the railing with another Cannonball.
    • With the concrete floor exposed, Brody climbs up to the apron where Darby bites his hand--Paul Turner does not seem to care about this--but Brody gets him up for a suplex to the floor. Darby fights out, slips through his legs, and powerbombs him onto the concrete. He proceeds to hit a Coffin Drop off the second onto Brody.
    • Brody gets back in at 9, but there's no time for him to get to his feet, and he's met with two more Coffin Drops as Darby secures the pin to retain. Kevin Knight will face him on Dynamite next week, but he's still got to defend his TNT title on Saturday. Brody and Darby shake hands before Brody leaves the ring.

Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Portland, OR

DEVELOPMENTS

  • THE CONGLOMERATION are backstage to start us off but FTR interrupt them because they need to do their townhall I guess. Cash says they accept Adam Copeland's challenge. Dax says nobody wants Adam and Christian here and that he wants to amend the match at Double or Nothing to an I Quit match.
    • The Conglomeration come out as FTR are leaving. They stare down on the ramp; Kyle and Roddy push over Dax and Cash and Stokely falls on his ass when Orange feigns a punch.
  • Andrade stops Orange from putting his hands in his pockets and goes to remove his pants but he stops after unbuckling his belt. Orange responds by doing his shoot kicks but at the end instead pulls his belt all the way off. They go into an International that ends with Orange pantsing Andrade. Later on, Andrade takes Orange's shirt off and puts it on himself; when he goes to ringside to meet with the woman of the week, she takes it off of him before they take a selfie.
  • It's time to see what happened to WILL OSPREAY after the Death Riders left with him. JON MOXLEY is sitting in a chair in the parking garage; there's another chair set up opposite him that Claudio sets him onto. Yuta throws water in his face; Danny immediately corpses. Marina takes a towel and wraps it around his neck before cranking it to one side and then the other. I guess this fixed his neck somehow.
    • "What is it you're trying to accomplish, other than breaking my neck?" Moxley asks. "When you go to the ring... when you get up in the morning... where are you trying to go, who are you trying to be? What is it you're chasing? I don't think you know the answers to those questions anymore." Moxley says that eventually, Will's body will break down.
    • "You can try to run through the brick wall as many times as you want, the wall's not going anywhere. But, if you step back and realize there's a door, you can walk right through it and become whoever you want on the other side." Moxley, it seems, wants to train Ospreay to have better control over his mind. "We can turn you into a weapon like professional wrestling has never seen. This 'thing' has gotta come to a head one way or another... we can saddle up," he produces a metal chair and throws it on the ground in front of Ospreay, "and you can be just like everybody else... or you can become everything you were meant to be. Your choice."
    • Moxley has now made himself fully prone on the ground with his hands behind his back, completely vulnerable, as Ospreay cautiously takes the metal chair. He's completely unsure of what to make of this. He takes a beat before demanding the camera operator leave.
  • Mox is on commentary for this ensuing 10-man tag. Given that his neck isn't fucked up, it's safe to assume that Ospreay did not Pillmanize him.
  • Lexy Nair backstage with HIKARU SHIDA, KRIS STATLANDER, HARLEY CAMERON, and MINA SHIRAKAWA. Harley is still throwing a pity party over Stat not training her, and Mina demands Shida apologize to Harley for what she said behind her back. Shida says, in English, that Harley is not on their level and never has been, and that if she doesn't believe that, she and Statlander will do what they couldn't--beat Divine Dominion for the tag titles. Kris looks kind of blindsided by this assertion. Harley says something to Shida in Japanese and those three start arguing as Kris leaves for her match, bewildered. B3CCA proceeds to hot start on her lol
  • Kris handily defeats B3CCA but blows past Shida on her way up the ramp, almost treating her like she's not there. This is a reluctant pairing to be certain.
  • Lexy Nair backstage now with DIVINE DOMINION. She asks for a response to Shida's challenge, and Kross asks why should they be worried? They say nobody looks, moves, or destroys like they do. It seems like Bayne and Kross have no problem with Shida and Statlander coming for their belts.
  • After Dynamite, we hear from KONOSUKE TAKESHITA. He says out of respect for Don Callis and the Family, he tried to avoid this, but if Okada wants to face him at Double or Nothing, he'll happily take his title--bitch.
    • KAZUCHIKA OKADA responds tonight. He says he doesn't fear him, he doesn't like him, and he doesn't respect him. Then he shouts something in Japanese and says at Double or Nothing, you LOSE!!!!!
  • Persephone goes for Razor's Edge on Skye Blue, but as Thekla distracts the ref, JULIA HART slips into the ring and mists Persephone. Paul Turner's never able to see the mist, and Skye hits Code Blue to pick up the pin.
  • El Clon once again removes the Velcro cover from his eyes. He's got his face painted like the mask underneath.
  • WILLOW NIGHTINGALE video package. She's once again looking for someone else to return and challenge her for the TBS title.
  • THE OPPS are backstage. Hook tells Joe that he's been recruiting, he hasn't done jack shit. ANTHONY BOWENS wants to know if he's in The Opps, Hook and Joe say there's no more vacancies--but that's because Bowens has filled it. He's in.
  • The Hurt Syndicate are wiping out GOA on the floor, leaving just Ricochet and Jericho in the ring. Aubrey Edwards is distracted by the carnage at ringside which allows Ricochet to low blow Jericho and hit the "Ricosault" to pick up his second consecutive pinfall win over purple boy.

STILL TO COME

Recap of AEW Dynamite, 22 April 2026

Image

===AEW Dynamite 22 April 2026===

Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Portland, OR

RESULTS

  • BRODY KING def. "Blackheart" LIO RUSH via pinfall
  • HIKARU SHIDA (with Kris Statlander) def. MINA SHIRAKAWA via pinfall
    • Distraction against Mina Shirakawa by Kris Statlander
  • "Dunkzilla" MARK DAVIS def. WILL OSPREAY via medical stoppage
  • SAMOA JOE def. CODY CHHUN via pinfall
  • AEW Men's World Championship: DARBY ALLIN (c) def. "Psycho Killer" TOMMASO CIAMPA via submission
    • First defense of the AEW Men's World title by Allin

DEVELOPMENTS

  • MJF has a mic to start the show. He's pulling out every excuse in the book to allege that he was screwed. He says Darby could never beat him at 100% and that he's the best pro wrestler in the world. He demands Darby come out and give him the world title back.
    • Instead he's met by the TNT Champion KEVIN KNIGHT. Kevin says when you're a real, fighting champion, you're willing to put your title on the line at any time, and reminds MJF that he had him pinned for a 13-count a few weeks ago.
    • MJF tries to make fun of Kevin's promo but mispronounces eloquent as "eleqent" so not sure where he's getting there. He says Kevin deserves the TNT title because he's a workhorse and an average Joe, that he's got a ceiling, and that ceiling is well below the world title.
    • Kevin says some of the best wrestlers in the world have held the TNT title, so it's no coincidence that MJF happens to never have. Kevin says if MJF's always had everything handed to him, how about he hands him an ass whooping?
    • MJF says Kevin's made him kind of want it a little bit; he can tell how proud the Jet is of the TNT title, and he wants to take that pride away. Max says if Knight wants another shot at him, he's gotta put the title on the line, and Knight agrees. MJF wants a ref right now so here comes Bryce Remsburg. We've got all the makings of a title match but MJF rolls out of the ring and says "you're gonna dance with the devil next week, kid."
  • Renee Paquette backstage with THE DEMAND and JERICHO. On Collision, Jericho faces them in a trios match but they don't have partners for him yet. The Demand say he's burned all his bridges and that nobody wants to team with him now that he's the guy who gets his ass beat by The Demand every week that he shows up; Jericho has gotten a trademark on that phrase and threatens to send him a cease and desist. Jericho says he doesn't need to find anyone who likes him, he just needs to find someone who hates Ricochet.
  • Lio Rush is saying that "it's never been his house" in his Gollum voice. I guess he's trying to get into a program with Swerve.
  • Brody King had trouble putting away Lio Rush. He's now selling the left arm. He grabs a mic and calls out whoever has the world title at the end of the night.
  • Renee Paquette backstage with TOMMASO CIAMPA, who challenges for the world title in the main event tonight. Ciampa says he's been told his entire career that he's not tall enough, wide enough, charismatic enough. He says he's got a work ethic like none other and that tonight he's prepared to shatter a glass ceiling. He tells Renee to ask Darby "do you want this more than I need it?"
  • ADAM COPELAND backstage. He says that if FTR really want to prove they are the singular greatest tag team of all time, they'll put the tag titles back on the line at Double or Nothing in a New York Street Fight. If Edge and Christian lose there, they'll retire as a tag team.
  • HIKARU SHIDA backstage before her match. She says to Mina "may the best joshi win."
  • Shida goes for her kendo stick at ringside while grounded and Mina is arguing with the referee. Shirakawa notices and intercepts her, then decides she's going to use the stick herself, willing to sacrifice the match to get her revenge. She's thwarted by KRIS STATLANDER at ringside, who grabs it as she swings back. Mina's mad about this, and the distraction is long enough for Shida to get her with a knee and put her away.
  • Davis hits Close Your Eyes on Ospreay near the apron and Ospreay survives by rope break when his leg inadvertently falls onto the bottom rope. Davis decides to take this opportunity to drag him onto the apron and hit it AGAIN there. Ospreay slumps to the floor; he's being checked on by Doc Sampson once again. Ospreay is pleading with the doctor to leave him so he can continue but Sampson is not having it and tells the ref to call for the bell.
    • Post-match, Davis hasn't had enough. He goes back out and grabs Ospreay, pulling him back into the ring and setting him up for a third piledriver. He's stopped, though, when MARINA SHAFIR gets on the apron. JON MOXLEY gets on the other end, and Davis is quickly surrounded by CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLIWHEELER YUTA, and DANIEL GARCIA. Davis isn't sure why they're here but he relents, setting Ospreay down. The Death Riders storm the ring after Davis leaves and literally kidnap Ospreay, dragging him out and leaving with him.
  • Renee Paquette backstage with ALEX WINDSOR. Alex says they're not done with the Triangle of Madness, and PERSEPHONE is here to join Windsor on Collision for a tag match against any two of the Triangle.
  • HOOK is here in the entrance to congratulate Joe on a successful return. In the time Joe has been gone, Hook has successfully recruited exactly Zero new members to the Opps.
  • Renee Paquette backstage once more with JERICHO, who reveals that he's hired the HURT SYNDICATE to join him on Collision. MVP says it's just business.
  • DARBY ALLIN townhall. He says this world title can grow people's egos, but his title isn't for him--it's for his parents, his fiancée, the sherpas on Mount Everest who almost certainly did not get paid enough and I'm sure they don't give a fuck that you have the AEW world title.
    • MJF interrupts and demands Darby give him the title back. Darby says no. MJF demands a rematch immediately. Darby says no. Darby tells MJF that he's not getting a rematch until he puts something on the line; he's the one with leverage. Until then, he tells MJF to get the hell away from his ring.
    • TOMMASO CIAMPA is here to wrestle; MJF tells Ciampa something on the ramp. Ciampa smiles and kisses MJF on the cheek. MJF's eye twitches.
  • Darby decides to put Ciampa on the timekeeper's table and jump clear from the ring post onto him. Not sure why. Ciampa is busted open crawling his way back to the ring so Darby throws himself at him at ringside.
    • Ciampa proceeds to hit a Psycho Driller off the top to the fucking floor like 5 minutes later. He's at like a 0.8 on the Muta Scale. Darby is dead.
    • These two go to fucking war. Darby escapes two of Ciampa's bony ass knees and has to wrench on the Scorpion Death Lock to get the tapout. Darby offers a handshake after the match and Ciampa relents before taking the belt and putting it over Darby's shoulder.
  • BRODY KING is back. He says he was serious when he said he was proud of Darby; he talked to Tony Khan, and if Darby signs off on it, Brody wants his shot at the belt on Dynamite next week. Darby nods.

  • ADAM COPELAND is here. He says Christian's not here tonight because he's getting an MRI to see if his arm is broken tomorrow. He says he's not done with FTR and that it's not just about the titles. FTR are now here and RPG VICE jump him from behind so it's 4 on 1 and they stomp his ass out. The YOUNG BUCKS are here to make the save for Copeland. The ring is cleared and Copeland shakes hands with the Bucks.
  • JACK PERRY backstage. He wants to face any member of the Don Callis Family next week for the National title.
  • CLARK CONNORS and DAVID FINLAY jump the Young Bucks after the opening match. DEZMOND XAVIER comes out to make the save but all of the Rascalz die big style. David Finlay says to kill the Dogs, they need to kill all of them.
  • DIVINE DOMINION video package. They have gay little boys that hold their shit up.
  • HOOK is backstage with KATSUYORI SHIBATA holding the camera. ANTHONY BOWENS wants to know if he's in the Opps or not, Hook says he'll tell him next week.
  • Lexy Nair backstage with DON CALLIS and KAZUCHIKA OKADA. Lexy wants to know if Takeshita has earned his shot at Okada's International Championship at Double or Nothing, but Don says Takeshita clearly didn't hold up his side of the bargain. Okada wants the match, though, because he says he knows he can beat him. He's a champion, he says, unlike Takeshita.
  • Lio Rush is visibly unnerving both PAC and Daniel Garcia. Danny tells PAC they need to leave as fast as possible once PAC picks up the win. Lio goes to sleep from the Brutalizer with a smile on his face.
  • BANDIDO video package just to remind you he exists.
  • HIKARU SHIDA and KRIS STATLANDER backstage with Lexy Nair. Shida is very excited to have picked up another win. MINA SHIRAKAWA wants to talk to Shida directly. Mina says she heard what Shida said about Harley, and when she found Toni, she saw Shida's candlestick. She doesn't know what Hikaru's up to, she says, but she doesn't trust her. They nearly come to blows but Stat gets between them.
  • Alex Windsor has Thekla up on the top but Thekla retrieves brass knuckles from somewhere. Windsor temporarily stuns her with a headbutt but then goes to sunset flip powerbomb Thekla, leaving her whole head exposed like a moron, and of course Thekla nails her in the head. She curbstomps Windsor to retain.

===AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru 15 April 2026===

Angel of the Winds Arena, Everett, WA

RESULTS

  • "Psycho Killer" TOMMASO CIAMPA def. DEZMOND XAVIER via pinfall
  • TNT Championship: "The Jet" KEVIN KNIGHT (c) def. CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI via pinfall
    • First defense of the TNT title this reign by Knight
  • WILL OSPREAY def. CMLL World Heavyweight Champion HECHICERO (with Don Callis and Lance Archer) via pinfall

    • Eighth defense of the TBS title this reign by Nightingale, improves to 12-4 career in matches for said title
  • AEW Men's World Championship: DARBY ALLIN def. MJF (c) via pinfall
    • NEW AEW MEN'S WORLD CHAMPION; First reign for Allin and 17th reign all-time
    • Fourth championship in AEW for Allin (third singles, second world)

DEVELOPMENTS

  • We're scheduled to start this show off with MJF's world title defense, but MJF has no intent on having that match tonight. He threatens to sue basically anyone and calls Justin Roberts a pervert. He says Darby's not ready to become a champion. Darby grabs the mic and says that when he started his career 10 miles up the road he told himself he would either make it as Darby or he would fail as Darby but he's not changing a single thing.
    • MJF is still adamant that this match is not happening. Bryan Danielson now has the house mic. He says that Tony Khan agrees with MJF; this match shouldn't happen right now because MJF isn't ready. Instead, he says, the match will happen in the main event, and if MJF doesn't sign the match contract, he'll be stripped of the title.
  • After Dynasty, we see Tony Schiavone backstage with KENNY OMEGA and Doc Sampson. Kenny says he's got nothing and heads into the trainer's room with WILL OSPREAY. They think back on their matches. Kenny says he feels like he let everybody down and that he doesn't have any time left, but he says Will does. Will says he's dejected and sad and he's been crying for 40 minutes but his dream is still to be the AEW World Champion and he says he hopes Kenny hasn't given up on that yet either. Will tells Kenny he's his hero as he leaves, and that sticks with Kenny who says maybe he really can't give up.
  • The crowd is chanting "bald" at Tommaso Ciampa so he goes over the the timekeeper's area and screams "DO I LOOK LIKE RICOCHET? SAVE THAT BALD CRAP FOR SOMEONE ELSE" lol
  • Ciampa cuts a post-match promo and says that Xavier was "the example" because he's sick of waiting--he says he wants all the gold, and he's targeting the world title.
  • We get a Darby Allin-MJF hype package and now it's time for goddamn FTR to talk. Dax says C&C will never get another shot at those titles while they have them. Stokely calls FTR Goliaths and says that none of the Davids are worthy to step to them. They do a 10-second pose to end the segment.
  • Kevin Knight has a townhall after his defense. He puts over Claudio and says that he doesn't blame Speedball for them losing the trios titles; sometimes, he says, you have to slow down to speed back up. He says he'll be keeping a close eye on the world title match in the main.
  • Renee Paquette townhall with CHRIS JERICHO. He says he thinks he lost because he was outnumbered 3 to 1. Now THE DEMAND are here and Ricochet says that he meant it when he said he respected Jericho but he also says that he warned him. Jericho challenges Ricochet to face him one-on-one and he just says the world "bald" over and over and it's really annoying. Ricochet has been baited into a one-on-one confrontation and tells GOA not to help him no matter what. Ricochet immediately gets his ass kicked and GOA come in to make the save. They beat him down and do their tag finish powerbomb thing and then Ricochet does the Luthersault again.
  • After Dynasty, Renee Paquette backstage with DON CALLIS and KAZUCHIKA OKADA. She wants to know what happened out there, and KONOSUKE TAKESHITA walks by and Don stops him to ask him the same thing. Takeshita says "It was an... accident! I'm so sorryyyyy~" and leaves. Okada throws something at him and yells at him in Japanese. Don tells Takeshita they're not done.
  • Don Callis introduces Hechicero in his Iconic Way again. At one point he says "Super Nintendo." He reaffirms that the Family is a business and Takeshita can't just simply walk out and leave it.
    • Will Ospreay looks to ringside coming out of commercial break and MARINA SHAFIR is sitting in the front row. I guess she wanted to watch a match
    • Ospreay eats a guillotine head scissors and he's fucked up. Hechicero covers him in the corner but he gets his foot on the rope. Don Callis is pissed, Will is holding his neck, Doc Sampson is basically hovering over Will but Hechicero boots him and throws him back into the ring. He's got Will in a triangle choke AND armbar, Will is not fucking tapping out.
    • Now they're running spots AGAIN. Hechicero hits a fucking tope, elbow drop off the top to the back of a standing Ospreay's neck, Ospreay KICKS OUT and hits a Stundog Millionaire. Hechicero counters with a boot, goes up, Ospreay catches him and goes for a crucifix powerbomb, Hechicero escapes. Ospreay kicks out of a roll up at 2. Ospreay goes for the Oscutter, countered into an armbar and then a triangle choke, Ospreay is ON HIS FUCKING FEET INTO THE FUCKING STYLES CLASH and he hits the Hidden Blade and wins. What a fucking joke
    • MARK DAVIS is now here, he lays out Will with a lariat and piledrives him.
  • THEKLA cuts off Renee Paquette from the crowd. She's saying the b-word more, now ALEX WINDSOR is here and she's appealing on behalf of Jamie Hayter. They're now saying that Thekla was fired from the entire country of Japan, Thekla says it was because nobody could handle her, and Alex puts out a challenge for the world title on Collision. SISTERS OF SIN try to jump her in the ring and get laid out.
  • JON MOXLEY backstage with DANIEL GARCIA and WHEELER YUTA. He says he likes to be surprised and Will Ospreay never surprises him. He asks MARINA SHAFIR how Will looked; Marina says he looked rough. He says he pays more attention than everyone else; Will showed him his cards. He says he doesn't take pleasure in the suffering of others, though there can be beauty in it; he prefers life over death, he adds, but you don't get one without the other. He addresses Nick Wayne ahead of the eliminator match on Collision, saying he doesn't know much about him and beckons him to surprise him. He does a shitty little laugh.
  • KRIS STATLANDER and HIKARU SHIDA backstage. Shida's not letting Kris get a word in edgewise. They'll tag tomorrow.
  • Renee Paquette walking with DARBY ALLIN backstage before the main. Darby runs into STING who I guess is just chilling backstage. Sting says it's not showtime, it's Darby's time.
  • MJF gives Aubrey the Diamond Ring after the bell, saying he forgot to. While Aubrey is depositing it at ringside, he low blows Darby. He whips Darby towards the ropes, nearly hits Aubrey, and Darby low blows MJF back. Darby proceeds to hit four Coffin Drops and beats MJF with a headlock takeover to win the title. The entire babyface locker room empties out to celebrate with Darby in the ring, followed shortly after by Sting.
    • "you know when you spend a really long time trying to open a jar and someone else trys and opens it in three seconds because you mostly had it?"

DEVELOPMENTS

  • Earlier today, Renee Paquette is backstage trying to interview WILLOW NIGHTINGALE when she's attacked by KAMILLE.
    • Kamille goes on to face a jobber later on and we're told Willow was "medically disqualified" from defending the title tonight. Willow storms the ring after the match and gets her shit kicked in.
  • Jack Perry counters Mark Davis's rebound clothesline into a super tight Hurricanrana to pick up the flash pinfall. Davis is outraged.
  • In the opener, Don Callis talks about having a bounty placed if someone brings him Nick Jackson's right eye. Takeshita later holds Nick back by comms and Callis gouges at his eyes then wipes his hand off on a road agent.
    • The Bucks get stereo Sharpshooters on Takeshita and Okada. Okada nearly taps but Takeshita grabs his wrist. They proceed to kind of just start play slapping each other before getting to the ropes.
    • Around the 15-minute mark, Takeshita and Okada bump into each other. Takeshita is willing to back off, but Okada throws a forearm and they get into a strike exchange. It's cut off momentarily when they intercept Matt trying to charge them off the ropes, but Okada goes for a Rainmaker and nearly hits Takeshita. Matt shoves Okada into Takeshita before schoolboying him for a 2.
    • Takeshita now charges Matt looking for a second Power Drive knee, but Matt ducks and Okada eats the entire thing. Takeshita looks genuinely horrified but it's only for a moment because he takes a Poisonrana from Nick. The Bucks go for the BTE Trigger but Takeshita whips them to the ropes and double lines them down.
    • Matt is the first one up and Takeshita goes to pick him up for Raging Fire. Okada outright grabs Matt out of the air so he can hit the Rainmaker instead--Matt ducks again and this time Takeshita eats it. Okada isn't smiling, but he looks significantly less remorseful than Takeshita did.
    • Superkick Party for Okada who takes a BTE Trigger, but Okada's out at 2 and three quarters. He's got no answer for Matt getting him up for the Meltzer Driver, but Takeshita grabs Nick's ankle on the apron to stop him. It's just for a moment, though--Takeshita yields his grip, deciding he's had enough. The Bucks hit it and pick up the 3.
    • Don is furious on commentary, demanding a replay. Takeshita gets in the ring and shoots the bird to the still-supine Okada.
  • Through 4 minutes in Jericho/Ricochet they have done basically nothing.
    • Jericho, for the second time here, goes to put Ricochet in the Walls. Toa Liona gets on the apron to distract referee Aubrey Edwards so Bishop Kaun can charge the ring and throw Jericho into the turnbuckle pad. Ricochet schoolboys Jericho for a 2 count. Jericho also kicks out following an Air Raid Crash and a standing shooter.
    • Jericho, after hitting a Frankensteiner, proceeds to eat a fireman's carry Pele kick, a Northern Lights suplex, a brainbuster, and Vertigo and kicks out at 2.8. Ricochet goes up top and after a short tussle goes for a shooter but Jericho counters into a Codebreaker. Ricochet escapes.
    • Jericho gets Ricochet into the Walls. Bishop Kaun gets in the ring to distract Aubrey while Toa pulls Ricochet all the way to the ropes; Jericho basement dropkicks Ricochet into Toa and then jumps off the top onto all three men on the floor. Toa charges Chris on the floor and gets thrown into the barricade before Kaun eats a Judas Effect. He then gets trucked by Liona and returned to the ring.
    • Ricochet hits a shooter; Jericho kicks out again. He lands the Spirit Gun but Toa at ringside tells him to wait before pinning him. Ricochet hits Jericho with the Lionsault to win.
  • Darby hits a Scorpion Death Drop and a Coffin Drop to crush Andrade, but Andrade raises his arm to grab Aubrey's hand before she can make the three count without getting his shoulder fully up. Aubrey is pissed about this but despite Andrade's shoulders still being on the mat and Darby still being on top of him, she just doesn't start a new count.
    • Darby looks for the Code Red, Andrade counters into an attempted inverted Alabama Slam, Darby lands on his feet but gets wiped out with the back elbow for a 2. Unsure how to put Allin away, Andrade picks him up and tries for the DM, but Darby Victory Rolls through and hooks in a leg lock pin for the win.
    • Andrade is frustrated after being caught unawares, but after thinking it over, he offers Darby a handshake afterward, who accepts it. Andrade raises Darby's arm.
  • Cash goes for the title belt. Paul Turner notices, and he gets into a tug of war with Christian. Edge rolls up Dax for a two, but gets clocked in the head with the belt on the way out and Paul Turner doesn't see it. He kicks out but he's now fully busted open from the belt shot.
    • FTR go for a Shatter Machine that gets countered and they hit a 3D on Dax for a 2 count. Edge is up to, like, a 4 on the Muta Scale. C&C are thinking maybe a Spike Piledriver now on Dax but Stokely grabs Christian off the apron. Adam chases him around ringside; Stokely runs through the ring like that one ECW bit with Shane Douglas and Copeland walks right into a Shatter Machine. Christian's response to this is to run all the way around ringside to grab Stokely and roll him into the pin to break it up and Dax is furious. Stokely tries to turn it on Paul Turner and shoves him several times, so Paul shoves him back and he bumps to the floor.
    • Dax eats a spear, Cash breaks it up; Cash piledrives Copeland but Dax is still too gassed to make a cover. Cash now goes for a chair; Christian is here to intercept it and I guess is now willing to get disqualified. Stokely grabs it as he goes to swing it so Christian runs him into the post. He goes to charge Stokely with it but Cash shoves him into the post and he eats it chair-first. Cash then just shitcans Christian over the railing into the timekeeper's area and Christian is just dead for the rest of the match.
    • Copeland's a house of fire 2-on-1 with FTR. He gets cut off and they do a shitty superkick party and go for the "FTR Trigger" but Cope ducks and double spears them off the ropes. He goes for another spear on Cash but gets sunset flipped and eats a second Shatter Machine for the 3 count.
  • WILLOW NIGHTINGALE backstage. She says that if Kamille wanted a title shot, all she needed to do was ask. They'll face at Spring BreakThru Dynamite.
  • Order of entrants in the Casino Gauntlet match:
    • No. 1: TOMMASO CIAMPA
    • No. 2: RUSH
    • No. 3: ROH Men's World Champion BANDIDO
    • No. 4: SPEEDBALL MIKE BAILEY
    • No. 5: EL CLON
    • No. 6: "The Bastard" PAC
    • No. 7: DANIEL GARCIA
    • No. 8: ANTHONY BOWENS
    • No. 9: "The Jet" KEVIN KNIGHT
    • No. 10: WHEELER YUTA
  • El Clon enters, and after fending off attacks from Rush and Ciampa, tears the velcro off the area around his eyes, revealing them for the first time. It kinda looks like he's got the Lio Rush contacts in.
    • Speedball and Jet are working together for most of this; they tease a standoff when everyone else is cleared out of the ring, but get cut off when PAC and Danny pull them off the apron.
    • Bandido goes for a tope onto the entire roster on the floor but El Clon catches him into an overhead belly-to-belly and everyone dies. For some reason Kevin Knight is getting up on the top turnbuckle while everyone is already down. Ciampa cuts him off and they jockey for position before he suplexes Jet onto everyone EXCEPT Speedball and PAC. PAC throws Speedball into the ring and hits the Black Arrow for a 2 when Ciampa wipes him out with the running knee; Yuta pulls Ciampa out to the floor.
    • Danny's now got Speedball in the Dragontamer and that shit's in deep but Kevin Knight fucking SMASHES him with a UFO Splash that gets him the pinfall.
  • Thekla kind of grabs the rope as she's pinning Jamie but it's like 2.6 when she grabs it so I don't buy that it really helped her much anyway. Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter are protesting the pinfall decision afterwards, but Stephon Smith is not changing his mind. I would like to get a climactic finish to a big women's title match once in a while
  • The no. 1 contender to the AEW Men's World Champion DARBY ALLIN backstage with Renee Paquette. Darby says that Dynamite is in Everett, WA, the same place he started his wrestling career, so he's planning on cashing in his title shot on Wednesday.
  • The Conglomeration's entrance is sitcom-style on the stage. KYLE O'REILLY comes through the door, asking if someone said "Conglomeration." Nobody said it, so he says it himself. We have our third man.
  • Lot of fuckery in the main. Maybe someday I will come back and add to this recap but in real time there's two and a half hours until Dynamite and I don't really feel like going back and rewatching the whole thing right now

STILL TO COME

DEVELOPMENTS

  • An hour late and a dollar short once more on MyAEW but we're off and running. Gabe Kidd, during the champions' entrances, cuts an entire promo into Tony Schiavone's headset mic but he's talking into the wrong side so you can't hear a word he's saying.
    • At one point we see Místico doing a biting spot to David Finlay despite that his mask is covering his entire head. I guess if everyone in this fuckin company is gonna bite why not him
  • RODERICK STRONG and ORANGE CASSIDY are on the tron after the Dogs win the trios titles. Orange is on the phone with someone, supposedly a third for them to challenge for the trios titles, but Orange forgets to ask the person if they're in before he hangs up. He needs to call them back.
  • WILL OSPREAY backstage with the rest of the UNITED EMPIRE after Dynamite. He introduces them all and the IWGP champion Callum Newman speaks to how tightly knit they are. Will Ospreay calls out Jon Moxley.
  • We see a pretape backstage with Lexy Nair where HIKARU SHIDA proposes teaming with KRIS STATLANDER. She's very eager for this. Tony Schiavone tells us that Harley Cameron is backstage and inconsolable that Statlander has decided to team with someone else.
    • Statlander blind tags and Shida clearly was not expecting it and they get into a brief disagreement. Something tells me this combination will not be a unit longterm.
    • Statlander is very aloof after their win, and Shida is kind of teasing attacking her. It's almost like she can't make up her mind because she flips between that and being all smiles repeatedly.
  • HYAN and MAYA WORLD video package. They introduce each other and declare their intents to go after the women's tag team titles on Zero Hour.
  • After Dynamite, JON MOXLEY backstage with the rest of the Death Riders boys. Mox is giddy after the Chaos in Canada main event. "You guys stepped into our world, and you survived. Congratulations. Would you want to do it again, or would you rather never have to do it again?" Mox reaffirms that the Death Riders' calling card is that regardless of the outcome, the Death Riders always keep going.
  • During Bowens/Rush, Schiavone tells us that now Mina Shirakawa is backstage commiserating with Harley Cameron over their separation from their respective tag team partners and that we will hear from them later in the show.
  • BRAWLING BIRDS backstage with Lexy Nair. Each of them are in singles action at Dynasty, but they tag tonight against their respective opponents. Windsor addresses Jon Moxley saying Will Ospreay is going to cut off the head of the snake, but before that, she's going to chop off the ass. Jamie says she didn't think Thekla would make it this far because the last time they stood across from each other in the ring, she saw "some little tosser who's too afraid to get hit." Jamie says to her, the title is her life.
  • Lexy Nair now backstage with HARLEY CAMERON and MINA SHIRAKAWA. Harley says sometimes hope is all you have left and she says the two of them are very similar in several ways. Mina says now there's only one thing left to do and she produces a bottle of champagne to pour Harley a glass. Harley instead finishes off the rest of the bottle.
  • WILLOW NIGHTINGALE backstage after Dynamite. She cuts a workrate promo, putting over Aminata and Shida. Tony Schiavone, she says, called her the "comeback killer," so to anyone who's been out for a while, she challenges them to come try to take the title off her.
  • DIVINE DOMINION backstage. Lena says holding the tag titles means they are the best of the women's tag division. Lena doesn't think Hyan & Maya belong in the same conversation as them, but Megan says they're gracious champions and will grant them the opportunity to challenge at Zero Hour.

DEATH RIDERS (AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley, "The Bastard" PAC, Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia) (with Marina Shafir) via pinfall, Will Ospreay and Callum Newman over Jon Moxley

DEVELOPMENTS

  • Ahead of the show, Tony Khan announced that the TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher's injury is going to have him out for months. That title has been vacated, and the new champion will be determined in a Casino Gauntlet at Dynasty. Máscara Dorada and Tommaso Ciampa will go head to head tonight for the number one spot in that match.
  • Show opens with the UNITED EMPIREFRANCESCO AKIRA, HENAREWILL OSPREAY, and the new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion CALLUM NEWMAN joined by the NJPW Strong Women's Champion ALEX WINDSOR brawling with the DEATH RIDERS in the parking lot and the ring. Empire get the upper hand, and Ospreay challenges the Death Riders in the main event.
  • We hear from DON CALLIS who tells us about the Casino Gauntlet match. He also tells us that he was negotiating with the Young Bucks for Fletcher and Okada to face them at Dynasty, but now he's got a pivot in place. He addresses the Takeshita-Okada beef, saying that it's going to be a long time before they face each other.
  • Brody King is not here tonight for personal reasons, but BANDIDO has stepped in to take his place in the opening trios match.
    • Andrade immediately leaves the ring and walks up the ramp at the start of the match Universe Mode cutscene style. Darby grabs a mic, calls Andrade "Don Callis's little bitch" twice, and then eats a Chaos Theory on the ramp cold from Takeshita.
    • Don Callis is now here, noclip style, and gets on comms. Mark Davis goes "YAAA IM GONNA GETCHA" and then crashes and burns on a low bridge of the top rope.
    • Takeshita and Davis team up to hammock swing throw Darby over the timekeeper's table into the chairs and he eats it like shit. Soon after, there's some friendly fire from Takeshita on Davis who kind of just eats it and goes back to killing Jack Perry. Perry eats Close Your Eyes and Davis yields to Andrade who hits the DM for the win.
  • Darby shoves Andrade in the chest, who points to the Dynasty banner and then promptly kicks Darby square in the cock. Davis holds back Perry as Don goes after his eyes; Takeshita sets up for Raging Fire but the YOUNG BUCKS are here to make the save.
    • LANCE ARCHERHECHICERO, and EL CLON charge the ring but all die and then Davis eats a BTE Trigger. They go for a Meltzer Driver on Takeshita, who squirms long enough for KAZUCHIKA OKADA to pull Nick off the apron. They each stomp out the Young Bucks before bowing up to each other and quickly coming to blows.
    • The rest of the Family pulls them apart but now THE RASCALZ are here and do topes to take them out. Okada points and laughs at him before getting killed by Myron. Rascalz win the segment.
  • Lexy Nair backstage with DOC SAMPSON to give an update on Kenny Omega's medical condition. Doc says Kenny's in the best shape of his life, he's been cleared by both him and a surgeon, and that MJF was probably just trying to get in Kenny's head.
  • Queen Aminata and Willow Nightingale and fighting on the floor and we see HIKARU SHIDA watching the match near the barricade by the tunnel.
  • Willow and Aminata shake hands after the match. Nightingale heads to the barricade to exchange glances with Shida.
  • It's Time For CHRIS JERICHO To Talk. He's here to sign his new contract. He says he's proud of how big AEW has become and that he's gotten in as good of shape as he can because he thinks AEW deserves the best Chris Jericho he can be. He doesn't care where he is on the card, he just loves pro wrestling (I am just writing what he is saying). THE DEMAND are now here before he can sign the contract, unfortunately. I really cannot get a read on whether or not Tony Schiavone gives a shit about Jericho. Ricochet tells Jericho "just don't. Don't do any of this, don't sign your little contract, don't come back." Ricochet is taking credit for AEW being on the rise lately, Jericho's got some shit on his upper lip, Ricochet says "nobody wants you here, dog," which is true. Jericho says "you really are bald," and that he doesn't give a shit what Ricochet thinks, and signs the contract. He says he has a clause in his contract to choose any available opponent for Dynasty. Jericho is doing the List gimmick again.
  • DON CALLIS backstage with the Family and Lexy Nair. Lexy wants to know what Don's big match for Dynasty is: he announces Okada and Takeshita against the Bucks for Dynasty. Takeshita says NO, Don says you two are being selfish and don't get to call the shots. Takeshita wants a shot at the International Championship for his trouble and Don relents.
  • THE DOGS are backstage and they have killed RODERICK STRONG and ORANGE CASSIDY. They want the trios titles on Collision.
  • ADAM COPELAND and CHRISTIAN CAGE are here. Copeland says jealousy and pettiness are what blew up Rated FTR. He says they are the "CNC Dynasty" which maybe we should rein back this name. Christian says he fucked their moms and he's going to fuck Stokely's mom too. Unfortunately FTR are now here but RPG VICE attack Copeland and Cage from behind and it's a 4-on-2 brawl. Dax goes for a belt shot on Cage, he counters, goes for an Unprettier, Cash shoves him into Stokely. Copeland eats a knee chair-style from RPG Vice. Stokely spears Christian at some point in this segment. FTR have Christian's arm set up to get Pillmanized but before Cash does it Stokely steals his watch.
  • DARBY ALLIN backstage. We're getting a lot of annoying fuckers talking tonight. He says he puts up walls because he's scared he can't win the big one and that Andrade doesn't understand what he's gotten himself into. He says he needs this more than anything else.
  • ALEX WINDSOR comes sprinting down the ramp to ringside to brawl with Marina Shafir pretty quickly into this match.
    • Claudio breaks a kendo stick in half and Moxley stabs Ospreay with the splinters and tries to put his eye out. That doesn't work so he just shoves it up his nose. Normal wrestling things.
    • Akira tries to put Garcia through a table. It does not break, so he goes up top and tries to splash him through it. He overshoots instead, hitting the table only with his lower body and going 12 to 6 headfirst to the floor. This man is a little bump freak
    • Moxley is spamming Paradigm Shifts again on Ospreay here at the end of this match. Newman comes in to shift the battle in their favor, and Ospreay hits the Hidden Blade through a table in the corner on Moxley. Ospreay and Newman both cover Moxley to earn the win.
    • Ospreay looks for the Tiger Driver '98 on Moxley after the match, but Claudio charges and pulls Moxley out of the way.
  • KENNY OMEGA townhall to wrap this show up. Kenny says it's been about 25 years ago since he was in Edmonton. He says last week he lost his cool with MJF and he's not proud of it. He wasn't mad about the Ibushi thing or the diverticulitis thing. Everything MJF can do, Kenny can do better, he says, but what MJF can't do is what Kenny does all the time.
    • After Kenny wraps up, MJF's here. He spends two minutes basically just saying that Kenny's going to lose. I don't really feel like paraphrasing everything in this segment.
    • Kenny demands Max shake his hand, Max obviously refuses and tries to line him, Kenny ducks and gets him with a knee lift that kills him. Kenny takes Max's ring off, does his closing spiel with it on, and then gives it back to him. Why did you take it to begin with
