===AEW Collision 27 June 2026===

Rio Rancho Events Center, Rio Rancho, NM

RESULTS

  • AEW World Trios Championships: THE CONGLOMERATION (Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong, "Freshly Squeezed" Orange Cassidy) (c) def. THE OPPS (Hook, Katsuyori Shibata, Anthony Bowens) via pinfall, Orange Cassidy over Anthony Bowens
    • Fourth defense of the AEW World Trios titles this reign by The Conglomeration
  • TNT Championship, Continental Rules: "The Jet" KEVIN KNIGHT (c) def. DEZMOND XAVIER via pinfall
    • Seventh defense of the TNT title this reign by Knight
  • JERICHO def. JD DRAKE via submission
  • CMLL World Women's Championship: PERSEPHONE (c) def. BILLIE STARKZ via pinfall
    • Third defense of the CMLL World Women's title this reign by Persephone
  • CMLL World Trios/Light Heavyweight, IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team, and ROH World Tag Team Champion MÍSTICO & SPEEDBALL MIKE BAILEY def. PREMIER ATHLETES (Ariya Daivari & Tony Nese) via submission, Místico submitting Tony Nese
  • JAKE SOMETHING (with Don Callis) def. ADAM PRIEST via pinfall
  • Tag Team: MERCEDES MONÉ & ROH Women's World Champion ATHENA def. HYAN & MAYA WORLD via pinfall, Athena over Hyan

DEVELOPMENTS

  • Bowens goes to superkick Orange, who ducks, and Shibata eats it. The Conglomeration team up and wipe out Bowens, and Roddy throws Orange onto Bowens to earn the pin.
  • THE DEMAND are backstage. Ricochet needs a new angle. LETHAL TWIST are here also and Ricochet tells Jay Lethal he likes his haircut and Jay says likewise. It seems like they intend to have a working agreement. Toa yells at the camera.
  • DEATH RIDERS plus WILL OSPREAY are backstage. Moxley seems real eager to target Swerve Strickland. Will tells Swerve "10 years of friendship. All for what? Nothing. That's the message you're gonna send to a guy with a double neck fusion surgery?" Will's openly concerned about the Vertebreaker, but he tells Swerve that it's not his house anymore; he's a squatter, occupying space on Will's road to Wembley.
  • The TRIANGLE OF MADNESS are here to reiterate that they want to light the Forbidden Door on fire. I'm not fully clear how beating Starlight Kid and Maika is going to achieve that but you know whatever I guess. Thekla seems convinced enough about it at least.
  • Lexy Nair backstage with DIVINE DOMINION and THUNDER ROSA. Rosa says she's not afraid of either of them, even alone. She adds that both she and Olympia embody the Mexican fighting spirit, and Lena remarks that for people with fighting spirit, they sure hide their faces a lot. Rosa tells them that her face paint means heritage, and Olympia's mask means culture, and they're not backing down. Rosa takes her jersey off and dares either of them to hit her; they walk away.
  • HIKARU SHIDA attacks Persephone after the latter's defense of her title. She locks in her ugly-ass new submission; KRIS STATLANDER, HARLEY CAMERON, and QUEEN AMINATA all run out to make the save, then stand off before it is determined that Persephone wins the segment.
  • GABE KIDD has a video package reaffirming his affiliation with the Death Riders--he says nothing of The Dogs--and that he wants to prove AEW's dominance over the other organizations in the Forbidden Door. Gabe's in Japan, and he wants Shota Umino when he gets back.
  • WILLOW NIGHTINGALE video package showing her training. After an injury that forced her to vacate the TBS title, there has still not been a new champion crowned and she's already making appearances again.
  • Athena pins Hyan off the O-Face, then she and Mercedes continue to attack Hyan, locking in a combination Statement Maker-half crab. Maya World thrust kicks both of them and hits an Asai moonsault onto the two. This might just come to a head tomorrow at Forbidden Door.

DEVELOPMENTS

  • Brief aside--sorry for the lack of recaps of AEW programming last week! I was actually at both shows in person and quite frankly didn't feel like watching each show a second and third time. We'll hopefully go back to normal this week.
  • The DEATH RIDERS are backstage plus WILL OSPREAY to cold open the show. Mox gives everyone a pep talk and Danny tells Will to get in the ring around the rosie joint. They do it and Ospreay eats shit and he and Danny corpse really hard. Time for trios action.
    • Brody tries to get Mox up for a powerbomb but Marina gets on the apron to distract Aubrey Edwards. Claudio clubs Brody across the back of the head with the Continental title which allows Mox to pin Brody.
  • Renee Paquette backstage with TEAM BRISCOE minus Mark. Renee asks them if they feel ready. Darby says he doesn't but they don't have any time to waste and that he's willing to do anything possible and he hopes his teammates do the same. Orange wants to make sure everyone has backpacks.
  • Marina gets Harley into a rear naked choke but Harley rolls over and pins her in the hold to get the win. Marina just looks baffled. She can't buy a win.
  • Danny hits a Styles Clash on Swerve; Swerve responds by winning the match with a nasty Hidden Blade. Ospreay world.
    • Swerve returns to attacking Garcia after the bell, trying to injure the right arm. WILL OSPREAY intervenes and lines up for a Hidden Blade but Nana pulls his leg. Swerve tries to get Ospreay up for a Vertebreaker; Danny pulls him down and gets him out of the ring, so Swerve just kills Danny instead. Ospreay runs Swerve off with a chair.
  • TEAM DCMJF are backstage, plus RPG Vice. Kevin Knight asks Darby Allin if Double or Nothing wasn't enough for him, and reasserts that he wants his title shot. Okada says bitch. Kyle Fletcher wants to kill Takeshita. Max doesn't let Andrade talk, and he's mad at Andrade for not being on the same page last week, so he and Don have made really shitty awful shirts for the whole team.
  • Zack Sabre Jr. and Bad Dude Tito attack the Young Bucks after their match. KENNY OMEGA and JACK PERRY run in to make the save; Kenny and Zack go nose to nose and exchange words before trading blows. Kenny hits a Snapdragon and goes for the V-Trigger but Tito bails him out.
  • Renee Paquette backstage with the YOUNG BUCKS and she asks how things will go in 3-way tag action on Sunday. The Bucks think they're on their way back to the top of the tag division. The camera now pans to CAGE & COPE and THE DOGS in an all-out brawl. Matt asks if they're good and Adam says they're fine and they go back to fighting. Clark tries to take a makeup artist hostage; it does not work. David gets the upper hand by spraying both of them in the eyes with hairspray and they choke out the tag champs with camera cables then do a 5-second pose. David has the E&C glasses.
  • MARK BRISCOE is here with a microphone after the main event. He celebrates with Takeshita on the stage before getting in the ring. He talks about how The Conglomeration won over the Death Riders at Blood and Guts and how the stakes are much higher at Forbidden Door. Most of the rest of the promo is him building the match up.
    • DON CALLIS walks out on stage to talk shit to Mark as a distraction for MJF to attack him. Mark gets the upper hand briefly and goes for the Jay Driller but KYLE FLETCHER makes the save, hits a snap half-and-half and a brainbuster. KONOSUKE TAKESHITA is back, he takes Kyle's head off with a forearm and hits Raging Fire. KAZUCHIKA OKADA hits the Rainmaker on Takeshita, KYLE O'REILLY gets Okada in an ankle lock, KEVIN KNIGHT hits the GTFO on O'Reilly, DARBY ALLIN hits the Scorpion Death Drop on Knight. Darby sets up for the Coffin Drop but gets cut off by JAKE SOMETHING who hits Into the Void. RODERICK STRONG attacks him, Jake gets the better of him but eats an Orange Punch from ORANGE CASSIDY, then another, and Roddy hits an Olympic Slam. MJF kicks Orange in the balls from the back; Mark now tries to get him up for the Jay Driller a second time but ANDRADE EL ÍDOLO hits a rebound lariat on Mark. Things break down quickly between Andrade and Mark, but Don intervenes and gets them back on the same page for a moment. Andrade holds up Mark for a shot from the Dynamite Diamond Ring but Mark ducks out of the way. Andrade gets leveled and Mark kicks Max in the gut and hits the Jay Driller. Team Briscoe stand tall.

    • Distraction against Daniel Garcia by CHRISTYAN XO

DEVELOPMENTS

  • Kenny Omega disposes of Bad Dude Tito with the One Winged Angel, and he has a mic after the opener. He says a week ago, he asked himself what the next plan of action is to climb back to the top. It came to him: if he couldn't make it in time for the Owen, but Zack Sabre Jr. needed an opponent for Forbidden Door, and an opponent he will have. Kenny's still got his eyes set on MJF and the World title.
  • The National Champion MARK DAVIS is backstage with KYLE FLETCHER. Kyle says the reason Mark Davis isn't in the final of the Owen is solely that of Konosuke Takeshita. Fletcher compares Takeshita to a jealous ex-girlfriend, and he plans on taking a measure of revenge by bringing the International title back to the Don Callis Family. KAZUCHIKA OKADA is here, and he agrees. They shake on it. Davis says nothing this promo.
  • Hikaru Shida has forgotten how to do a stretch muffler but Zayda Steel taps out anyway. She continues to attack Steel after the bell, and Christopher Daniels has to get between them. Mike Posey is not really helping very much.
  • THE OPPS are backstage with Lexy Nair. Bowens cuts a promo about how it's Pride of Professional Wrestling Month and how Joe has told him to choose violence, and ends with his new standing ovation gimmick. This makes Hook really mad and he basically tells him to shut the fuck up because he's the new kid. Bowens is confused by this because Hook's been an asshole lately and Hook doesn't really give him much. Hook says The Opps aren't about applause but about violence which... kind of still lines up with what Bowens was saying but I don't really have much faith in Hook's listening comprehension. He tells Lexy to talk to him instead of anyone else when she talks to The Opps.
  • Dezmond Xavier has a mic after disposing of the Atlas Boys. They put over MYRON REED, their teammate who's got a match for the TNT Championship due up next.
  • Tony Schiavone tells us out of the break in this TNT title match that on Dynamite Wednesday, MJF and Mark Briscoe will pick their teams for the main event steel cage match at Forbidden Door, then those teams will compete in a traditional 12-man tag team match later on in the show.
  • Kevin survives a rapid-fire exchange with Myron and wins with the Crash Landing to retain the title.
  • DIVINE DOMINION video package. They're still looking for worthy challengers to their championships.
  • MAYA WORLD is out in the parking lot. She says on Sunday at 3 AM, she woke up to the news that her big brother, who introduced her to wrestling, had passed away. Tony Khan and AEW, she says, told her to take time off, but she refused because she felt she needed to be with her second family. After upsetting Skye Blue, she faces down Athena, who, she says, taught her everything that she knows: "if everything I know that you taught me comes back to bite you in the ass, that's on you." Maya's well aware of the improbability of her having this opportunity to begin with, and she doesn't intend to take it for granted.
    • ATHENA is backstage and she hasn't taken kindly to the words from Maya. She expresses condolences for Maya's loss, but she's also feeling pretty sorry for herself. She's never made it out of the second round of the Owen. "Just because I taught you everything that you know... doesn't mean I taught you everything I know."
  • Athena keeps attacking Tiara James after submitting her to the Koji Clutch, prompting Maya to run out and make the save. Athena powders, and leaves up the ramp, before suddenly running back out and now attacking Maya. Mike Posey is exactly zero help. That is now the second time tonight he has allowed this to happen.
  • THE DEMAND are backstage. Ricochet wants Takeshita and the International title.
  • David Finlay hits Matt Jackson with the shillelagh from the floor and Clark spears him, but Nick is able to break up the pin. He handles them both for a moment, but Clark gets him to the apron and spears him through the ropes. The Dogs hit Full Clip on Matt Jackson to pick up the win.
  • THE CONGLOMERATION--Kyle, Roddy, and Big Tom--are backstage and they're looking forward to the main event cage match at Forbidden Door. They're intent on securing Mark Briscoe's shot at the world title.
  • Tony Schiavone is trying to formally apologize to Stardom for Thekla's actions last week. THEKLA is now here and cuts him off and basically tells him to shut the fuck up. This crowd is eating this up, so maybe Stardom are the heels in this storyline. Thekla wants Stardom's "best girl" for a shot at the AEW Women's World title at Forbidden Door, and she calls out Taro Okada--the president of Stardom who she's publicly beefed with in the past--and says she'll buy him a first-class ticket to sit in the front row at Forbidden Door to see the monster he created.
  • The BANG BANG GANG are backstage. Austin Gunn calls out The Dogs, and declares that he spent the $200,000 they won as a team months ago on property in a strip mall and registered an LLC. Colten Gunn is just now finding all of this information out, and supposes that it explains why at home he's kept receiving mail referencing "Juice Robinson's Super Affordable Quick & Easy Kinda Reliable Spay & Neuter Center for Lost Dogs."
    • Juice, who was wearing shades, takes them off to reveal a second pair of glasses underneath and says that he handles all the procedures himself. "So guess what, Dogs? After you get snipped, and you're on the mends, you're both gonna get a cute little cone! Only problem with the cone is everyone knows you can't clean yourself." Juice now takes off the second pair of glasses. "But that's alright, cuz you can clean one another... and when Gabe comes back, you're gonna have to clean him, because he's gonna get the first appointment!!!!"
  • Persephone's staggered after Julia repeatedly focuses on her eyes. Julia has the mist prepped but Persephone quite literally slaps it out of her mouth, splattering it across the canvas. Persephone hits the Razor's Edge to win the match and advances to Survival of the Fittest.
  • THEKLA is backstage with Lexy Nair. We find out she'll be facing Starlight Kid at Forbidden Door. Thekla says she knows everything about her, and despises everything about her. She wants to make sure Starlight Kid's first time in AEW is her last. "The blood of Stardom will be on your hands."
  • SPEEDBALL MIKE BAILEY was backstage earlier tonight. They say earlier they watched their former friend Kevin Knight defend the TNT title alone. They intend to start taking out every member of the Don Callis Family one by one. Kevin Knight comes out with Jake Something and gets on comms. It's a matchup of former DEADLOCK Pro Wrestling tag champions tonight.
  • The Death Riders are coming in from outside the arena to head into this street fight, but they're jumped from behind on the stairs by STP and we're underway about as far from the ring as you can possibly be. I believe the bell rings but there's no audio from inside the arena besides comms.
    • Carlie and Shawn bury Claudio under a stack of metal railings as the rest of the fight makes its way inside the building. Mox is focusing primarily on Shane and Danny is matched up predominantly with Lee.
    • Everyone is brawling on the floor (minus Claudio) and they cut to the ring and Danny and Lee are just having an actual wrestling match. Lee and PAC proceed to just do rope-running drills for like 30 seconds.
    • Mox gets singled out in the ring by Shane, Carlie, and Shawn. Shane produces brass knuckles and clocks Jon in the head but they don't seem intent on pinning him and ending this as they continue to beat him down. Mox is busted open as the Infantry pick him back up for a second blow when Claudio suddenly rushes the ring and clears house. He manages to get a vertical suplex off on Taylor.
    • Claudio now charges Dean in the corner, but Trish gets in his way and dares him to hit her before chopping him. Claudio responds by dramatically removing his lucha mask as if to reveal that he was, in fact, Claudio. I'm not sure how it could have been anyone else. Shane bodies Claudio and hits the ropes but Claudio double legs him and tries to go for the Giant Swing. Trish chops Claudio in the back twice before selling her hand and Claudio slowly turns around. Trish chops him again before he cuts her off. She starts trying to beg off when Marina stomps her calf and basically commands Claudio to give her the swing. Claudio's initially reluctant to do it but eventually says fuck it and gets it into motion. Marina dropkicks Trish out of it and she and Claudio dap up.
    • Carlie Bravo commandeers a camera, walking over to Nigel McGuinness at commentary and throwing his water cup in his face. Lee tries to get between them when Danny suddenly charges Lee. Lee sidesteps this and Nigel gets clobbered by a running elbow. Danny's body language screams "ah, oh well" in response to this.
    • Mox, face still covered in blood, is attacking Lee over by the barricade. A child shouts "Moxley! There's children over here!" as Mox is fishhooking him. Jon's response is "hey, you gotta grow up sometime," and he resumes punching Lee in the head.
    • Out of break, Marina has apparently fallen victim to the Bronco Bustin' Cap'n. Carlie, Trish, and Shane are on the floor all yelling at the camera at the same time as behind them, Danny drags Marina out of the corner while Mox and Claudio set up a table in the ring. Shawn, who is still up on the middle turnbuckle, is also yelling at the camera when Claudio walks underneath him. Their eyes meet and Shawn starts begging for his life. None of the other three notice this, including Trish, who is now holding up money in front of her face. Shawn is screaming to get their attention before eating the stiffest powerbomb ever through the table which explodes. The other three are silenced by this and slowly turn back around.
    • PAC hits an Orihara moonsault onto Bravo and Taylor. Danny and Lee are now once again having a match in the ring as Trish clubs Marina in the gut with what appears to be the side of a rollerskate. Danny tries a Dragon Screw on Lee who stays put and tries to take an armbar; Garcia instead stacks up Moriarty and gets a 2 count. That is the first pin attempt this match.
    • The Death Riders run a train on Moriarty in the corner before a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker from Claudio and a dropkick from PAC to clear the ring. They proceed to do their ring around the rosie taunt, which Marina offers Mox to join. He evidently does not seem particularly interested and instead does a double bicep taunt. STP promptly charge the ring and clear house.
    • Shawn has set PAC up on a table at ringside as Trish hits a brainbuster on Marina on the ramp. Shawn proceeds to dive onto PAC from a platform in the crowd; the table only really half breaks and they both just die. Claudio is now attempting to hit some kind of powerbomb on Shane onto the ring stairs, which have been set up near commentary. He's intercepted by Lee who locks in an octopus stretch. Claudio responds to this by walking up the steps, onto the barricade, and hitting an Air Raid Crash through the timekeeper's table.
    • Danny turns Carlie inside out with a lariat in the ring. He picks him up for a piledriver but dumps him when CHRISTYAN XO walks out on the ramp and displays to Garcia her shirt which reads "DEATH RIDE DEEZ NUTS." The way Daniel decides that he's going to respond to this is by acting like he's going to do his hip dance taunt thing. He promptly gets cut off by Bravo taking a rear waistlock.
    • Carlie gets the brass knuckles back from Christyan and wipes Danny out with them. She then gives him a metal chair from under the ring; he sets it up and calls Shawn to get in the ring with him, where they hit dueling curbstomps on Danny onto the chair. Moxley breaks the ensuing cover up with a basement dropkick and double DDTs Carlie and Shawn.
    • Moxley has now produced an entire spare turnbuckle from underneath the ring, and I guess he intends to bash Shawn's fucking head in with it. Shane Taylor cuts him off and beats him down. Danny is busted open nasty style from the curbstomps. A "Cleveland sucks" chant has now broken out in the arena. With the assistance of The Infantry, Shane puts Moxley through a table next to commentary.
    • STP now turn their attention on Marina, who is isolated in the ring. She is also bleeding from the head. STP minus Lee have surrounded Marina in the ring, who proceeds to attack all three men before Trish Adora takes her fucking head off with Lariat Tubman. Carlie and Shane are now ripping Marina's boots and socks off her feet as Trish retrieves a bag of what is revealed to be plastic army men. Shawn has a bag of his own; this one has thumbtacks and glass shards. All three of The Infantry pick up Marina and drop her feet-first into the pile of sharp objects; Marina responds to this by grinding her feet into them and booting Trish in the head; Claudio double lines Shawn and Carlie, sending them to the floor, before press slamming PAC onto them and Shane.
    • Lee dumps Claudio over the top, then he and Danny once again go back to having a match. Moriarty locks in a Border City Stretch but Danny is able to grab a rogue shard of glass and lacerates Lee's hand with it to force him to break his grip. Danny takes over and locks in the Dragontamer. Shane Taylor comes in and takes Danny's head off; Marina jumps onto him jockey-style and Shane dumps her but gets met with an Ace Crusher from Moxley.
    • Moxley's decided this one's over. All four men in the Death Riders run a train on Shane in the corner and PAC levels him with his rebound lariat. Moxley hits Paradigm Shift and covers Taylor to win the match.

This is a comprehensive recap of the feuds and storylines currently in progress on All Elite Wrestling programming that are relevant to the Dynamite and Collision tapings on Wednesday, 17 June. I originally wrote this for my friend who's going to the show with me but figured I'd put this blog to good use by posting it here as well.

Men's World title: MJF won the title at Worlds End in December. After defending against Kenny Omega in a marathon at Dynasty in April, Darby Allin cashed in a title shot he earned by beating Andrade El Ídolo that Wednesday and upset MJF in just two minutes. Darby went on a sprint title reign, defending the title every week—sometimes twice a week—in an unprecedented approach that lined up with his approach to life. MJF repeatedly demanded a rematch through this, but Darby wouldn't give it to him until he swore to put his hair on the line if he lost. Max reclaimed the world title at Double or Nothing. Mark Briscoe, who pinned MJF at All Out last year, now feels he's entitled a shot at the title. Max refuses to grant him one, saying he's unmarketable, but Tony Khan has struck a deal—in the main event of Forbidden Door, it'll be a 6 vs. 6 cage match, with MJF and Briscoe each choosing five teammates. If Mark's team wins, Briscoe will earn a shot at the AEW Men's World Championship. Those teams will be chosen this Wednesday, and go on to participate in a traditional tag team match later that night.

Meanwhile, the TNT Champion Kevin Knight—one of the most exciting rising stars in the company—attacked Darby Allin to end Double or Nothing, claiming Darby let everyone down by losing the match. Knight went on to attack his former teammate Speedball Mike Bailey on Dynamite, and later aligned himself with the Don Callis Family, the biggest heel group in the company. Kevin defeated Speedball in a grudge match for the TNT title on Wednesday, and has made it clear to MJF (who has courted Don Callis with a hefty sum of money to convince Don to send his clients to join his side in that cage match) that he'll join Max's side if Max gives him a title shot in the process. Knight has faced MJF twice this year and has gone 1-1 against him.

Fellow Don Callis Family member Andrade El Ídolo is also focused on MJF's title, and is significantly less enthused by Don's continued affiliation with Friedman, believing himself to be entitled a match for the title. Don has been wishy-washy about committing to giving him one, but on Wednesday gave him his word that he would get one soon. Andrade didn't seem convinced, but it's placated him for the time being.

Women's World title: Thekla, the world champion, has made it clear that ahead of Forbidden Door (AEW's big annual crossover event with New Japan Pro Wrestling, Stardom [an all-women Japanese promotion], and CMLL [Mexico's largest promotion]), she wants to humiliate Stardom. Thekla previously worked for Stardom and held several championships in the promotion. Her ongoing feud with the owner of the promotion, Taro Okada, was eventually her downfall as she was fired when she physically attacked him. Thekla put out a challenge Saturday for Stardom to send any one singular top star in the promotion to challenge her for the AEW Women's World Championship at Forbidden Door, and they responded by selecting Starlight Kid.

Starlight Kid, just 24, has been a champion in the promotion more than half a dozen times over already, and is no stranger to Thekla in the ring: they've faced off in matches 32 times over a three-year span from 2022-25. Most of their prior meetings were in tag team bouts, but there is specific precedent here: Starlight Kid has defeated Thekla both times they've faced in singles action, both times doing so in under 10 minutes. It will have been nearly 3 years since their last singles meeting when they face again at Forbidden Door, and the stakes will be much higher. Thekla has made it clear that she wants Starlight Kid's first match in AEW to be her last.

Men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament: Around the midpoint of every year, both a men's and women's tournament is held. It's an eight-man, single-elimination tournament, where the winner receives a match at their division's respective singles world championship at All In, AEW's biggest show of the year. The finals of each tournament will take place at Forbidden Door. The men's final is already established: Swerve Strickland will face Will Ospreay. Strickland, amidst dissent with Kenny Omega, turned on Omega and began embracing a more vicious side in February. Believing Omega was using his title of executive vice president of AEW to unfairly launch himself to the top of the contendership rankings for the AEW Men's World title ahead of Dynasty, Strickland challenged Omega to put his EVP status on the line in March, 5 weeks after Strickland defeated Omega in a match and brutally attacked him afterwards. Omega was able to win that match and, in doing so, became the no. 1 contender for the title, earning the aforementioned match with MJF at Dynasty.

Strickland disappeared for about a month before a series of promo packages showed him taking aim at the Ring of Honor Men's World Champion Bandido. He would go on to attack Bandido after the latter successfully defended his title at ROH Supercard of Honor, then defeated him in a non-title bout in the opening round of the Owen at Double or Nothing, nearly two months after his last match. Strickland then used underhanded tactics to get the better of Brody King in the semifinal to punch his ticket to Forbidden Door. He's now one match away from booking his first match for the world title since Worlds End in December.

On the other side of the bracket, England's Will Ospreay has been on a run of destiny. After an unsanctioned steel cage match against the Death Riders and (at the time, heel) Young Bucks at Forbidden Door 2025 in London ended with Jon Moxley breaking Ospreay's neck and requiring double fusion surgery, Ospreay returned at Revolution in March and made it clear he was not done with the Death Riders. Still wearing kinesio tape on his neck and evidently struggling with substantial pain in the region, Ospreay overcame perpetual rival and countrymate PAC on 1 April and reunited with the faction in NJPW that he helped found in United Empire. On 8 April, Ospreay and three other members of United Empire--including the new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion in Callum Newman--defeated a contingent of the Death Riders including Moxley in an all-out, anything goes match. Still, struggling with his neck, Ospreay was unable to overcome Moxley in a singles bout for Moxley's Continental Championship at Dynasty in Vancouver.

With neck issues worsening, Ospreay pulled out a miraculous victory against the Don Callis Family's Hechicero on Dynamite Spring BreakThru despite requiring at times intervention from the ringside doctor. Things came to a head a week later, when Hechicero's family mate--and former member of United Empire--Mark Davis defeated Ospreay by medical stoppage. Davis dropped Ospreay on his head twice with piledrivers, and Doc Sampson ruled that the match could not continue. Davis continued to stalk Ospreay after the match, perhaps contemplating further attacking him, when the Death Riders suddenly surrounded the ring and effectively kidnapped Ospreay.

That Saturday, we got footage of what happened after the Death Riders left the arena with Ospreay in tow. Marina Shafir used a towel to adjust Ospreay's neck as he was forcibly sat down face-to-face with Moxley. Moxley offered him a deal: seeing Ospreay's potential, and unwilling to allow it to go to waste, Mox would have Ospreay join Death Riders training sessions. Mox sold this to Ospreay by vowing to make him the greatest weapon professional wrestling had ever seen, and made it clear to Will that it was entirely his choice: "This 'thing' has gotta come to a head one way or another... we can saddle up, and you can be just like everybody else... or you can become everything you were meant to be. Your choice." Moxley took the metal chair he had been sitting on and tossed it into Ospreay's hands before lying completely prone on the ground, allowing Ospreay to reject his offer by clubbing him over the head with it if he so chose.

Will took Moxley's offer, demanding the camera operator leave the area. Over the following weeks, we got brief looks into Will's initially reluctant association with the Death Riders. Moxley made it clear that in order for Will's transformation to be complete, he needed to let go of any and all emotional baggage he still carried, including any feelings he had about him. "I make no promises, I don't produce miracles, but when I make a commitment to something, I see it through all the way to the end. All I ask is the same in return." The week after, Moxley would introduce to Ospreay the concept of "death ground," a position where one cannot leave from and has no choice but to fight. Moxley told him that's where he would end up if they didn't get both his physical neck and his mentality right: "Sure, you can still have a career at AEW--get paid, hang out like the rest of these posers. But that's not what you want. You're not like the rest of these people, man. You're different."

The benefits of Will's training with the Death Riders would manifest in multiple ways: Ospreay's wrestling style would become more well-rounded, relying less on living or dying by high-risk, athletic maneuvers and allowing him to deepen his arsenal with more technical attacks, submission holds, and targeting the limbs and extremities of his opponents. In addition, they would focus on strengthening his neck with intense exercise and physical therapy tactics. This proved to be so effective that Doc Sampson, the same doctor who ruled that Ospreay couldn't continue against Davis, told interviewer Renee Paquette less than two weeks after their training started that whatever techniques Ospreay was using were working and that he would be cleared to return to AEW ring action the next week. Ospreay, for his part, was reporting zero pain in his neck, going so far as to abandon the kinesio tape when he faced Ace Austin the next week. He debuted a somewhat more vicious and intentional style against Austin that match, focusing on attacking the arm of Austin to set up for a flying cross armbreaker submission hold to win the match. Ospreay, fittingly, named the hold "Death Ground."

That led Ospreay to the Owen. Will's been after the AEW Men's World Championship since he joined the company. His only prior match for the title was, fittingly, at Forbidden Door 2024 against then-champion Swerve Strickland; Strickland beat Ospreay in that match to retain the belt. After falling to Hangman Adam Page in an instant-classic match in the final of the 2025 tournament, Will returned with a renewed determination. He dispatched Samoa Joe in his quarterfinal match at Double or Nothing before beating now National Champion Mark Davis in a non-title semifinal match on 3 June's Dynamite to reach the final for the second straight year.

A win in the tournament final at Forbidden Door would send Ospreay to All In London: the biggest show of the year, in front of the fans in his home country, for the AEW World Championship he's been after for years at Wembley Stadium. Ospreay defeated Chris Jericho at the first All In London in 2023, and overcame current World Champion MJF for the International Championship at 2024's event. Ahead of the third All In London this year (All In took place in Texas in 2025), Will must overcome someone who has often been both a friend and a rival to him in Swerve Strickland to punch his ticket for the main event. The two last shared a ring together at All In Texas last year, where they teamed up to defeat then-EVPs the Young Bucks to strip them of their EVP titles.

Women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament: Both semifinal matches in the women's bracket will take place on Wednesday evening: one live on Dynamite, one taped ahead for Collision to air on Saturday.

On Dynamite, 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Cup winner Mercedes Moné takes on Stardom standout Hazuki in the semifinal on the west side of the bracket. Moné made her surprise return to AEW as the wild card in this tournament against Alex Windsor. Moné, before taking a leave of absence from AEW, had traveled the world collecting world championships from over a dozen different promotions, but her grip started to slip in mid-December. After holding the TBS Championship for a record 584 days, Moné was upset by the woman she had beaten two years prior to claim it in Willow Nightingale on New Year's Eve. After leaving the ring for three months, she would return to various other promotions where she would go on to lose every last one of her remaining championship belts over the course of March.

When Willow Nightingale revealed that a shoulder injury would force her to withdraw from the tournament, it opened the door for Mercedes to return to an AEW ring for the first time in six months, defeating Alex Windsor--who she had previously fallen to in under 9 minutes for the RevPro title.

Hazuki defeated the CMLL World Women's Champion Persephone, who was still nursing an eye injury from a month prior after Julia Hart sprayed poison mist in her eyes, to advance to the semifinal. There was a display of sportsmanship between the two as Persephone was able to put her frustration behind her. Mercedes suddenly attacked Persephone in the ring; the former had claimed that CMLL title off the latter in October, before Persephone won it back in March. Hazuki returned to the ring to run Mercedes off, but it was only temporarily successful, as Mercedes' true intentions were to attack Hazuki. They'll face off on Wednesday with a trip to the tournament final at Forbidden Door on the line.

On the other side of the bracket, it's a matchup of mentor vs. student as the ROH Women's World Champion Athena faces Maya World. Both women are originally from the DFW area--Athena from Garland, Maya from Greenville--and are no stranger to one another. Athena has been on a record-shattering run with the ROH Women's World title: holding it for over three and a half consecutive years, she's successfully defended it nearly 40 times. Her last singles loss came when she challenged for Toni Storm's AEW Women's World title at Forbidden Door last year, and that was without her own title at stake. She went through all of 2024 without losing any of her 20 matches. The vicious Athena refers to herself as the "forever champion," and proudly proclaims everyone that isn't her to be her minions.

Maya World knows what it means to be a minion when it comes to Athena. Just 23 years old and with 3 years of ring experience under her belt, Maya was once taken under Athena's wing as a member of the latter's "M.I.T." (Minion-in-Training) program before splitting off and abandoning Athena's mindset of being willing to stop at nothing--including cheating and injuring her opponent--to retain a championship. Maya is the only blemish on Athena's record in 2026, surviving a 10-minute time limit in a Proving Ground match on 1 March to earn a shot at Athena's title; three weeks later, it would take Athena nearly 20 minutes to put World away. At Supercard of Honor, they crossed paths once again in the main event. In a six-woman elimination rules Survival of the Fittest match for the world title, Maya and Athena were the final two participants remaining, and it's very possible Athena only escaped with the title thanks to the intervention of her visibly reluctant and often abused minion Billie Starkz.

Maya wasn't even supposed to be in this tournament. Japanese freelance standout Sareee was originally slated to face Skye Blue in a quarterfinal match last Wednesday, but a lingering neck injury resulted in her not being cleared to compete. Maya, less than a week removed from the tragic passing of her brother after he was struck by a moving vehicle, made it clear that it was her own decision to participate in the tournament instead of taking time off, and dedicated her performance to her brother. She would go on to upset the assumed favorite Skye Blue in that match, pulling off a flash pinfall victory. It will be an emotional affair on Collision, when Athena looks to escape the semifinal of the Owen for the first time (she's fallen to defeat at this stage twice before) and Maya tries to chart a path of destiny to Forbidden Door.

TBS Championship: As previously mentioned, the former TBS Champion Willow Nightingale, who was slated to compete in the Owen, was forced to withdraw due to a shoulder injury. That same injury also required her to yield the TBS Championship, which has now been vacant without a holder since before Double or Nothing. Ahead of Dynamite in San Diego on 1 July, six qualifying matches are being held for AEW's first ever Survival of the Fittest match to crown a new champion. Two already took place on Collision Summer Blockbuster: Hikaru Shida and Persephone dispatched Zayda Steel and Julia Hart respectively. There are still four spots left up for grabs in that Survival of the Fittest match, and it's safe to assume that on Wednesday either Dynamite or Collision, we'll see more matches to claim those spots.

Men's World Tag Team Championships: Adam Copeland & Christian Cage are the current tag team champions after finally overcoming FTR in an "I Quit" match at Double or Nothing. During their championship celebration on Dynamite the following week, they were attacked by The Dogs, Clark Connors and David Finlay, who believe that they're next in line for shots at those titles. We haven't seen Cope or Cage since the attack, but the Young Bucks believed themselves the worthy no. 1 contenders, and they had a tag team match to try and settle it on Collision. Finlay and Connors used underhanded tactics to cheat behind the back of the referee and win that match, so this rivalry might not be fully spoken for as we try to determine who will be the next challengers for the tag titles.

Continental Champion Jon Moxley and the Death Riders just had a brief rivalry with rival stable Shane Taylor Promotions in which they came out on top. It's unclear if that feud is fully complete, but after defeating members of STP in three consecutive matches including an all-out brawl of a street fight on Saturday, it's going to be a tough sell for them to regroup and continue an assault on the Death Riders.

There is a feud between Tommaso Ciampa and Chris Jericho that is genuinely snooze-inducing. Jericho is obnoxious, can't wrestle anymore, has been cutting childlike promos since his return despite being positioned as a good guy, and just launched an NFT grift in 2026. There are no redeeming qualities to this rivalry.

Kenny Omega will be facing Zack Sabre Jr., one of the greatest technical wrestlers active today, at Forbidden Door. They've not faced since 2018, and Omega, in the twilight of his career and seeking a way to return to the AEW World Championship one last time, hopes to use a victory over Sabre as a launching pad to return to title contention. Sabre is the leader of the TMDK stable in New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Omega overcame TMDK member Bad Dude Tito to open Collision on Saturday.

Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega have long been friends, though Omega has taken exception to Ospreay's affiliation with Jon Moxley and the Death Riders, especially considering clashes the two sides have had in the past. Ospreay has been undeterred, though Kenny is far from the only member of the roster who's unsure how they feel about the union between the two.

    • Interference against King by Prince Nana
    • Strickland advances, will face WILL OSPREAY in tournament final at Forbidden Door

DEVELOPMENTS

  • Tony Schiavone is here to bring in TOMMASO CIAMPA to start the show. Ciampa wants Schiavone to tell the crowd that he's better than Jericho again. Schiavone refuses so Ciampa grips him up and backs him into the corner. Schiavone starts saying it and CHRIS JERICHO's music hits. Judas keeps playing as Jericho gets in the ring and Ciampa is pitching a fit about this.
    • The entire angle is that Jericho is just saying juvenile shit to annoy Ciampa. This sucks.
  • Don Callis is backstage with KEVIN KNIGHT, who wants a shot at the AEW World Championship. ANDRADE EL ÍDOLO also wants that, and he wants The Jet to get to the back of the line. He asks Don if he's with him or with Kevin and does not get an answer. Frustration is mounting.
  • Shane takes Moxley's head off with a forearm after the match. CARLIE BRAVO gives Taylor his belt to whip Moxley with, which he does. DANIEL GARCIA comes out to attack Bravo, but he gets double teamed when SHAWN DEAN comes out to join Carlie. MARINA SHAFIR runs in to make the save, but TRISH ADORA hits her with a kendo stick. LEE MORIARTY joins the Infantry and they do the Death Riders ring around the rosie taunt. STP stand tall.
  • Don Callis is now here to introduce KEVIN KNIGHT. Kevin says that he knows the crowd isn't mad at him, and speculates that maybe it's with Darby Allin for letting everyone down, or at Speedball for breaking up JetSpeed. Kevin calls out MJF. Instead, he's met with DARBY ALLIN's tron. Kevin's immediately into fighter stance, but Darby instead attacks him from behind with his skateboard. Darby screams "I HOPE NEW YORK WAS WORTH IT, BITCH" and goes up to hit a Coffin Drop but bails out when JAKE SOMETHING, ROCKY ROMERO, TRENT BERETTA, and LANCE ARCHER run in to make the save. Darby leaves the arena through the side door.
  • Ahead of his match with PAC, we see MARK BRISCOE talking to Tony Khan. They seem to have come to some sort of agreement, presumably about receiving a shot at MJF's title.
  • After beating PAC with the Jay Driller, Mark grabs a mic and calls out MJF to say that he has a direct path to a title shot. MJF's music hits and we go to break.
    • MJF comes through the crowd, and in so many words, tells Mark Briscoe "no." Max says that friends are stupid and a liability and that he has the most important thing in the world: money, and money talks. Mark now gets attacked from behind by the LETHAL TWIST. Mark is able to get the upper hand on them momentarily but they start to beat him down. THE CONGLOMERATION (Roddy, Orange, Kyle, Ishii) run in to make the save. Max makes his way to ringside after they're laid out.
    • Mark says he knows something Max doesn't: if Max thinks he's the highest power in AEW, he's not the boss: he's just an asshole. Mark says he talked to the real boss in Tony Khan, and they need a main event for Forbidden Door. Max needs to find some partners, because at Forbidden Door, it'll be a 6-on-6 cage match, and if Mark Briscoe's side wins, he'll be guaranteed a world title match.
    • ANDRADE EL ÍDOLO comes out and exchanges looks with MJF. He's got a match with Orange Cassidy up next.
  • Orange early in this match is playing mind games with Andrade and somehow convinces Andrade to take his pants off. Andrade now tells Orange to put his hands in his pockets already. Orange instead starts taking his own pants off, tearing them off to reveal a second, identical pair of pants underneath. This infuriates Andrade.
    • During the break, Don attacks Orange and rakes his eyes.
    • Andrade goes over and takes a picture with a woman again at ringside, as per usual. Orange hits a tope, then looks over at the corner where the woman was. LIO RUSH is now taking her phone. She backs off as Lio beckons Orange over for a picture. Orange, very reluctantly, poses for it. Andrade immediately jumps Orange afterward.
    • Now Lio wants a picture with Andrade. They trade "how you know"s and "he knows" before Lio declares that it is, in fact, fine, and just takes a selfie at long-range. Orange hits a tornado DDT on Andrade.
  • Following Dynamite last week, WILL OSPREAY was backstage in the stairwell. He says he can't believe he's saying it, but he owes something to the Death Riders. His fiancé, ALEX WINDSOR, on the heels of her loss to Mercedes Moné, rushes him and buries her face in his chest tearfully. Will pushes the camera away.
  • JON MOXLEY is backstage with MARINA SHAFIR and DANIEL GARCIA. Mox says Shane could have walked away with his pride, but his voice is shot. Marina wants to kill Trish, and Danny proposes a 5-on-5 street fight on Collision.
  • Sareee was not medically cleared, so Maya World has taken her place in this quarterfinal match. Renee Paquette tells us that it's an emotional affair for Maya, who lost her brother earlier this week and has taken this match in his honor.
    • Good lord. AEW crowds are just fucking silent for women. This is depressing. You are here to watch wrestling. Here are the wrestlers. Be a part of the fucking show.
    • On the other hand, Skye Blue might be one of the worst and most boring in-ring wrestlers in this company. Dear God. She goes for Code Blue and Maya counters into a flash pinfall with a bridge to steal the match and advance to face her once-mentor, Athena, in the semifinal.
  • We get a pretape with ZACK SABRE JR. calling out Kenny Omega for a match before Forbidden Door. Excalibur tells us that the match has been signed. At Forbidden Door: Omega vs. ZSJ.
  • The entire fucking DON CALLIS FAMILY is backstage, where they're met by MJF. MJF explains the situation with Mark Briscoe and tells Don he needs five of his top guys. Don initially balks at this, saying he's not some kind of pimp, but his tone changes quickly when Max produces a briefcase filled to the brim with cash. Andrade is visibly irritated by this, but Don is happy to accommodate.
    • Andrade starts to step up to Max, but Kevin Knight cuts him off. Kevin says if he's looking for top guys, he needs to look no further than The Jet. Knight says he feels like MJF's been ducking him lately, so he'd be happy to help Max out at Forbidden Door if he gets a shot at the Men's World title afterward. Max says he'd love to say Kevin wasn't one of his top picks, but he is, and he's got that rematch coming--but if he loses this second time, there won't be another rematch. They shake on it.
    • Max leaves, and Don and Kevin dap up. Everyone else goes to leave, but Andrade holds Don back. Andrade wants an answer about his own title shot, and Don gives Andrade his word that he will get his shot at the world title. Andrade still doesn't seem convinced.
  • Brody sets Swerve up on a chair at ringside and goes to hit his running crossbody. Prince Nana gets in the way and stops him; Brody throws him out of the way but it gives Swerve enough time to drop toe hold Brody into the chair.
    • Swerve tries to powerbomb Brody off the second. Brody, in the process of hanging on to the ropes, pulls off the top turnbuckle pad. Brody ends up taking that buckle headfirst later on. Swerve and Nana are fucking with Aubrey as the blood starts to flow from Brody. Brody eats two House Calls and kicks out of the ensuing cover.
    • Swerve goes for the Vertebreaker but Brody back drops him out of it and hits a Death Valley Driver into the corner with the exposed turnbuckle. Prince Nana gets on the apron to distract Brody so Brody just chokes him out in like 3 seconds, dumps him, hits a Cannonball on Swerve, and piledrives him for a 2.9.
    • Brody looks for the Ganso Bomb; Swerve fights out and shoves Brody towards the ropes. Aubrey has to dive out of the way, which allows Nana to get a cheap headshot in from the floor. Swerve hits the Vertebreaker to take the match.

DEVELOPMENTS

  • Some miscommunications within Divine Dominion in the early goings of the opening match. They're still able to defend the titles successfully.
  • The DON CALLIS FAMILY are killing jobbers backstage. Trent and Rocky bury Takeshita and talk about all the nice clothes Don got them. Everybody dies. Jake Something grunts.
  • Lee Moriarty and The Infantry get to ringside and IMMEDIATELY go over to Nigel and start talking shit. Nigel says "Keep talking; you ain't gonna bite." Alan Angels goes for a springboard crossbody and Shane punches his fucking head off.
  • Shane has a mic afterward. He says for years the Death Riders have been the most violent group in AEW; their reputation has preceded them, and they've been willing to go further than anyone else. Shane says that all of that changes right now because as of right now STP is the most violent group in the company. Shane calls out Jon Moxley and the Death Riders and then goes and sits on commentary. He is breathing hard as fuck straight into the mic without hitting the mute button.
    • Nigel really cannot give up on the idea that he both deserves a shot at the Men's Pure title and that he is almost certainly going to beat Lee for it.
    • PAC has Carlie grounded and goes up top. Shane Taylor gets on the apron to distract referee Stephon Smith as Trish pulls PAC's leg to crotch him. Christyan then gets on the other end of the apron to distract him as Trish gets in the ring with a chair to attack PAC; she's cut off by MARINA SHAFIR and they brawl to the floor.
    • PAC takes the chair and goes into a tug of war in the corner with the ref, allowing all of the Death Riders to run a train on Carlie. PAC runs the ropes and hits his clothesline before locking in the Brutalizer to get a verbal submission.
  • Ciampa uses the Walls of Jericho to submit BEEF and then refuses to give them up. He knees BEEF to the floor and then puts him back in the Walls, tells Tony Schiavone to bring him a mic, and demands Tony tell the crowd that he's better than Chris Jericho.
  • TRISH ADORA and SHANE TAYLOR are backstage. They have killed WHEELER YUTA. Unlucky. Shane wants Mox in his hometown of Cincinnati next week.
  • DAVID FINLAY runs in to attack Juice Robinson while Clark distracts Stephon Smith, but Juice ducks the shillelagh and wipes him out with a nasty forearm. He goes for The Juice is Loose on Clark but Clark fights out and sends him to the ropes; Finlay hits him in the back with the shillelagh and Clark spears him for the win.
  • We get some words from people who are aiming to qualify for Survival of the Fittest for the TBS Championship, including HIKARU SHIDA, KRIS STATLANDER, MINA SHIRAKAWA, HARLEY CAMERON, QUEEN AMINATA, and ZAYDA STEEL.
  • JON MOXLEY and MARINA SHAFIR are backstage. Mox notes that Shane has gone to extreme lengths to get what he has, including, in his words, "merking young Wheeler." Mox says maybe he would have done the same thing in Shane's position, but only if he was 100% certain. "Because Shane, what happens if, when you get there, Continental Championship match, mano y mano, you are not who you thought you were?"
  • THE DOGS are backstage and call out the Young Bucks. Finlay takes umbrage with the Bucks saying they're next in line for the tag titles. They're ready to face the Young Bucks in Cincinnati.
  • Lexy Nair backstage with the defending trios champs THE CONGLOMERATION plus TOMOHIRO ISHIIRPG VICE are here to mockingly congratulate them. Rocky challenges Orange to face Andrade on Dynamite because he's never beaten him. Orange says "how you know" and that annoys Rocky.
  • Persephone, still recovering from being misted by Julia Hart a few weeks back, is selling her eyes and vision pretty heavily in the early goings of the main event here.
    • It's a highly competitive bout; Persephone gets a lot of offense in, but is unable to execute anything to put Hazuki away, namely her signature Razor's Edge. Hazuki hits several facebreakers but ultimately it's a La Magistral cradle that secures her victory; Persephone isn't even able to escape the pin after the 3 count.
    • Persephone and Hazuki shake hands and show respect to one another afterwards despite Persephone's intense frustration with her loss. Hazuki leaves up the ramp, and suddenly in the ring Persephone is attacked from behind by MERCEDES MONÉ, who's wielding the Owen championship belt that she left the arena on Wednesday with.
    • Mercedes puts Persephone in the Statement Maker and refuses to let go. That spurs Hazuki to run back down to make the save; Mercedes powders, but only for a moment as she turns around and now attacks Hazuki. Security pulls them apart before Hazuki dives from the ring onto Mercedes and the brawl is on once more.

DEVELOPMENTS

  • We get a cold open earlier today with Renee Paquette interviewing RUSH. RUSH says he would die in the ring if that's what it takes. He starts saying his catchphrase before MJF walks up, cuts him off, and slaps the SHIT out of him. RUSH double legs him and security has to pull them apart.
  • This match is happening first, and Renee, once again, is with RUSH. She says we just found out the match will have no countouts. ANDRADE EL ÍDOLO shows up to hype him up and tells him to take the title.
  • RUSH rips a turnbuckle pad off the top. He goes to throw MJF into the exposed turnbuckle and Bryce Remsburg gets in the way to prevent him. They argue for a moment before RUSH shoves Bryce out of the way; MJF proceeds to throw RUSH into it RUSH gigs off this.
    • Later on, Max tries to throw RUSH into it a second time, and once more, Bryce gets in the way. Turnabout is fair play, as Max shoves Bryce out of the way and then gets pushed into it himself by RUSH.
    • RUSH has MJF laid out after a headbutt. He drags him to the apron and kills him with a straitjacket piledriver. Both men are worse for wear following this; MJF previously had RUSH's left arm in Salt of the Earth, and it's clear the damage to his shoulder is catching up to him. RUSH uses the ring post to pop his shoulder back in and fires up to the crowd but quickly falls back to a knee. Bryce Remsburg and a medic check on him; the medic tells Justin Roberts that the match can't continue and he announces it as such. RUSH is now on his feet and spikes the microphone out of his hand before headbutting the medic who takes a crazy fucking neck bump off it. This match, evidently, is still on. RUSH throws a supine Friedman back into the ring and gives him the Horns but covers him way far into the corner and Max gets his hand on the rope.
    • RUSH goes for something with a double underhook on the apron but can't lift MJF, who powders to the corner of the ringside area. RUSH decides to try to dropkick him here, but Max ducks out of the way and RUSH kicks the entire barricade down and dies. Max proceeds to tombstone piledrive him onto the upturned barricade. Max's left knee is visibly bothering him.
    • RUSH, despite barely being able to move, has decided it is wise to climb up to the top turnbuckle. MJF sidesteps a shotgun dropkick from there, traps RUSH's injured left arm, and locks in a crossface. RUSH refuses to tap out, to the point where he shoots Max the bird from this hold, but there's no escape. He loses consciousness and Bryce calls for the bell.
  • Post-match, Max takes the belt and lines up RUSH to hit him with it. MARK BRISCOE runs down, though, and tries to hit a Jay Driller; Max slips out and kicks him in the balls. Now MJF wants to hit Mark with the belt, but the trios champs THE CONGLOMERATION are here joined by Tomohiro Ishii. MJF leaves.
  • After the break, Mark Briscoe's theme is STILL playing and I guess it turns out he's got a match right now. The Conglomeration, who are preparing to leave back up the entryway, freeze in place as LIO RUSH's music hits. Remember, he can't see you if you don't move. After he passes them, they start walking away but freeze again when Lio turns around. Once he finally heads towards the ring, all four of them sprint away.
    • Mark has absolutely no clue what to make of Lio, who is repeatedly whispering something into his ear after the bell. At the end of international feed time, Taz starts theorizing that maybe Lio ate some kind of mushrooms in the forest that caused this to happen to him.
  • Mark Briscoe wins with the Cutthroat Driver, and he has words for MJF after his match. He thinks back to the passing of his brother in January of 2023, and his debut match in AEW against Jay Lethal a week after. He says AEW was how he got his anger out after losing Jay, but deep down, he still couldn't find any joy until he found The Conglomeration.
    • Mark says that when he and MJF crossed paths, with every sentence Max spoke, the rage came back to the surface. He says he's never hated a man like he hates MJF, and reminds him of how he pinned him once he got his hands on him. When Max went away, he says, his mind was finally at ease again; when Max popped back up, all the rage came back, and now, Max has something Mark wants: the AEW World title. Mark says they are not the same; Max pitches a fit anytime he wants something until he gets it, but Mark says he's a grinder: he doesn't complain, he comes to work and does his job. Briscoe says he's calling out MJF's manhood, and if Max wants to say he's the best, he needs to prove it. "Max, 'Devil,' I don't know if you read the book--but you LOSE!"
  • THEKLA is here with SKYE BLUE and JULIA HART. She says that last week she promised that if even one person from Stardom came to AEW, she would burn Stardom to the ground. In Japan, she says, she used to be called the 'Idol Killer' because every 'kawaii' little girl made her sick so she had to take them all out. And then she got fired from Japan, so now she has to do it all over again. While Skye focuses on winning the Owen, and Julia looks to qualify for Survival of the Fittest to reclaim the TBS title, Thekla says she wants to close the Forbidden Door and declares death to all of Stardom. She then climbs a ladder that Skye and Julia have set up by the stage to hock up a loogie on the Stardom logo on the entrance screen.
  • The DEATH RIDERS are backstage. Danny is trying to hype up Will by reminding him that last time he faced Mark Davis, he wasn't at 100% and got dropped on his neck. JON MOXLEY walks up and tells Danny to fuck off.
    • "I know Mark Davis has been taking up space in your mind. That memory, those thoughts; now's the time to discard them forever. Right now. He's not a movie monster; he's Mark Davis. You know him, you've wrestled him, he's got two arms, two legs, you can beat him... and you're going to"..."This Will Ospreay, indestructible in mind and spirit, what you're becoming. Don Callis is gonna have to hire a truck driver to run you over with an 18-wheeler if he wants to beat you tonight. I don't like the temperature around here lately, all these groups and alliances and gang warfare, I don't like it. You don't worry about that. You've got one job tonight: pin his shoulders to the mat and break his arm. You stay on task. You beat Mark Davis. That's your job. Everything else... you let me worry about that. I'll take care of it."
  • Andrade has a mic after he kills a jobber. He says that now that MJF has the world title again, he really wants it. He says he knows MJF beat his friend RUSH, but asks if MJF thinks he can beat the real Latino man. How you know? DON CALLIS's brown note has now hit as Don comes out with JAKE SOMETHING. Andrade looks a bit taken aback and Don takes the mic. He has something important to say.
    • Don says the newest member of the Don Callis Family is KEVIN KNIGHT, who now comes out. Don is so excited that he spits his false teeth out. Don has acquired the TNT Champion, and with it, the title. Andrade looks frustrated. Kevin and Don embrace in the ring. SPEEDBALL MIKE BAILEY's music hits and it's time for this TNT title bout; Speedball is walking to the ring with a purpose.
  • Speedball late in this match hits Time Adventure on Kevin and sends him into the corner, but can't get him off the top when trying the Flamingo Driver. Instead he hits a rising gamengiri and starts climbing to the top. Jake Doyle gets on the other end of the apron to distract Rick Knox as Don pulls Speedball's leg and crotches him. Kevin hits a Sky High off the top before pulling Speedball in for the Rock Bottom to take the match home.
  • Kevin post-match says that he's in the Family for one reason only: to get straight to the top and become Jet 2 Belts. He says he's waiting on MJF.
  • Renee Paquette is backstage with DAVID FINLAY and CLARK CONNORS. Clark says last week they killed Cope & Cage and invented the New 5 Second Pose before beating the tar out of the Bang Bang Gang. They're tapping into their own personal Edge & Christian roots as David produces "5-Second Brews and 5-Second Kazoos."
    • The YOUNG BUCKS are here to crash the party. Nick Jackson says What The Dog Doin. Matt calls Finlay Bullet Club's worst leader ever and Clark "Temu Hangman." The Bucks feel that they're the rightful no. 1 contenders to the tag titles and says they brought their gear and are willing to fight it out tonight. Finlay says the true no. 1 contenders will wrestle when they feel like it.
  • Renee Paquette is backstage with MJF who is in the bath. She asks for comments on Mark Briscoe; MJF reiterates: "No Match For You, You Bumpkin." "For the last and final time: stop asking, cuz it ain't happening."
  • It's time for this Owen match, and to find out who the wild card is. Alex is out first. The wild card is, in fact, a returning MERCEDES MONÉ. The CEO has a brand new theme and is here in all black.
    • Mercedes gets Windsor hung up in the corner and drops her knees on Windsor's gut, driving her to the mat. The ensuing cover gets her a 2 count; Mercedes then sits in place, adjusting her hair, and says "I'm calm. I went to therapy. I'm good."
    • Mercedes taps Windsor out with the Statement Maker and leaves with the belt. I know she is the reigning champion but that title is very much not hers to keep.
  • Renee Paquette is backstage with Don Callis and KAZUCHIKA OKADA. Okada intends to take the International Championship back from Konosuke Takeshita.
  • TOMMASO CIAMPA is backstage pacing because Chris Jericho isn't here. Ciampa tells Jericho to stay home, but if he does choose to return, he will be waiting--unless he strikes first.
  • Mark Davis hits Close Your Eyes and Count to Fuck on Will Ospreay but raises his left arm, which he had previously planted on the mat, to shake it out while covering him. Will had been working over that arm shortly before this and was trying to lock in Death Ground. The release of pressure on Will's right shoulder allows him to shoot it off the mat at 2.
    • Ospreay hits the Styles Clash and Davis escapes the pinfall attempt. Will gets up and tries the OsCutter; Davis catches him and goes for a back drop driver, Will lands on his feet and takes a rear waistlock and Davis elbows him back. Davis now tries for an enzuigiri; Will ducks out of the way and Paul Turner gets clocked and fucking dies. Over the next six minutes we're off to the races.
    • Ospreay lays out Davis with the Hidden Blade and for some reason just decides to cover him even though he can tell Turner's dead on the floor. Davis doesn't get up. The Don Callis Family send in the heaters: TRENT BERETTA and EL CLON run in and attack Will. They're setting up for some kind of assisted Crunchie with Trent holding Will in place while El Clon climbs up to the top. Instead, Trent gets booted in the face by DANIEL GARCIA and Ospreay turns it into a sunset flip powerbomb. WHEELER YUTA throws El Clon off the top and Danny holds him in place while he hits a Busaiko Knee.
    • LANCE ARCHER runs in and double crossbodies the Dark Horses. He's then met with a springback European uppercut from CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI. The line keeps moving as BRIAN CAGE runs in with the pants and hits a TKO to lay out Claudio, and PAC hits a combination of kicks to ground Cage.
    • Davis tries a back drop suplex on PAC but he flips out of it and lands on his front before Will hits the OsCutter on Davis. Will motions to PAC to get Paul Turner in the ring; he does so and Turner starts the count, but JAKE SOMETHING almost immediately pulls him back out to the floor before killing PAC with an elbow.
    • Jake hits the Jake Something Press on Ospreay. He's waiting for Will to get back to his feet before MARINA SHAFIR leaps onto his back and locks in a sleeper hold. Jake grabs the back of her head and just whips her off him to the floor. She responds by spitting her gum at him. JON MOXLEY gets in the ring and they slug it out before Mox hits the Paradigm Shift on Jake; he and Marina Cactus Line Jake out of the ring. PAC does an Orihara moonsault onto everyone and they all fight up the entryway.
    • Will takes a double underhook on Davis. He wants something but he's not going to get it as KYLE FLETCHER is now in the ring and hits a half-and-half suplex on Ospreay before producing a screwdriver. He's doing a wake up taunt to Ospreay but gets pulled out of the ring by KONOSUKE TAKESHITA and they brawl out from ringside.
    • Fletcher dropped the screwdriver in the ring, and it's now in the hand of Davis. Mark intends to attack Will with it but Will hits a Hidden Blade to Davis's arm to release it before laying him out with a second one squarely between the eyes. Bryce Remsburg runs in to make the count, but somehow Davis is aware enough to kick out at 2.9.
    • Will wants a third Hidden Blade, this time to the back of Davis's head, but Mark drops down and ducks a round kick before dropping Will entirely on his shit with a second piledriver. Will, somehow, finds it in himself to kick out at 2.9. Mark wants his rebound lariat but Will floats over and successfully locks in the Death Ground armbar to tap out Davis.
