DEVELOPMENTS
- Earlier today, Renee Paquette is backstage trying to interview WILLOW NIGHTINGALE when she's attacked by KAMILLE.
- Kamille goes on to face a jobber later on and we're told Willow was "medically disqualified" from defending the title tonight. Willow storms the ring after the match and gets her shit kicked in.
- Jack Perry counters Mark Davis's rebound clothesline into a super tight Hurricanrana to pick up the flash pinfall. Davis is outraged.
- In the opener, Don Callis talks about having a bounty placed if someone brings him Nick Jackson's right eye. Takeshita later holds Nick back by comms and Callis gouges at his eyes then wipes his hand off on a road agent.
- The Bucks get stereo Sharpshooters on Takeshita and Okada. Okada nearly taps but Takeshita grabs his wrist. They proceed to kind of just start play slapping each other before getting to the ropes.
- Around the 15-minute mark, Takeshita and Okada bump into each other. Takeshita is willing to back off, but Okada throws a forearm and they get into a strike exchange. It's cut off momentarily when they intercept Matt trying to charge them off the ropes, but Okada goes for a Rainmaker and nearly hits Takeshita. Matt shoves Okada into Takeshita before schoolboying him for a 2.
- Takeshita now charges Matt looking for a second Power Drive knee, but Matt ducks and Okada eats the entire thing. Takeshita looks genuinely horrified but it's only for a moment because he takes a Poisonrana from Nick. The Bucks go for the BTE Trigger but Takeshita whips them to the ropes and double lines them down.
- Matt is the first one up and Takeshita goes to pick him up for Raging Fire. Okada outright grabs Matt out of the air so he can hit the Rainmaker instead--Matt ducks again and this time Takeshita eats it. Okada isn't smiling, but he looks significantly less remorseful than Takeshita did.
- Superkick Party for Okada who takes a BTE Trigger, but Okada's out at 2 and three quarters. He's got no answer for Matt getting him up for the Meltzer Driver, but Takeshita grabs Nick's ankle on the apron to stop him. It's just for a moment, though--Takeshita yields his grip, deciding he's had enough. The Bucks hit it and pick up the 3.
- Don is furious on commentary, demanding a replay. Takeshita gets in the ring and shoots the bird to the still-supine Okada.
- Through 4 minutes in Jericho/Ricochet they have done basically nothing.
- Jericho, for the second time here, goes to put Ricochet in the Walls. Toa Liona gets on the apron to distract referee Aubrey Edwards so Bishop Kaun can charge the ring and throw Jericho into the turnbuckle pad. Ricochet schoolboys Jericho for a 2 count. Jericho also kicks out following an Air Raid Crash and a standing shooter.
- Jericho, after hitting a Frankensteiner, proceeds to eat a fireman's carry Pele kick, a Northern Lights suplex, a brainbuster, and Vertigo and kicks out at 2.8. Ricochet goes up top and after a short tussle goes for a shooter but Jericho counters into a Codebreaker. Ricochet escapes.
- Jericho gets Ricochet into the Walls. Bishop Kaun gets in the ring to distract Aubrey while Toa pulls Ricochet all the way to the ropes; Jericho basement dropkicks Ricochet into Toa and then jumps off the top onto all three men on the floor. Toa charges Chris on the floor and gets thrown into the barricade before Kaun eats a Judas Effect. He then gets trucked by Liona and returned to the ring.
- Ricochet hits a shooter; Jericho kicks out again. He lands the Spirit Gun but Toa at ringside tells him to wait before pinning him. Ricochet hits Jericho with the Lionsault to win.
- Darby hits a Scorpion Death Drop and a Coffin Drop to crush Andrade, but Andrade raises his arm to grab Aubrey's hand before she can make the three count without getting his shoulder fully up. Aubrey is pissed about this but despite Andrade's shoulders still being on the mat and Darby still being on top of him, she just doesn't start a new count.
- Darby looks for the Code Red, Andrade counters into an attempted inverted Alabama Slam, Darby lands on his feet but gets wiped out with the back elbow for a 2. Unsure how to put Allin away, Andrade picks him up and tries for the DM, but Darby Victory Rolls through and hooks in a leg lock pin for the win.
- Andrade is frustrated after being caught unawares, but after thinking it over, he offers Darby a handshake afterward, who accepts it. Andrade raises Darby's arm.
- Cash goes for the title belt. Paul Turner notices, and he gets into a tug of war with Christian. Edge rolls up Dax for a two, but gets clocked in the head with the belt on the way out and Paul Turner doesn't see it. He kicks out but he's now fully busted open from the belt shot.
- FTR go for a Shatter Machine that gets countered and they hit a 3D on Dax for a 2 count. Edge is up to, like, a 4 on the Muta Scale. C&C are thinking maybe a Spike Piledriver now on Dax but Stokely grabs Christian off the apron. Adam chases him around ringside; Stokely runs through the ring like that one ECW bit with Shane Douglas and Copeland walks right into a Shatter Machine. Christian's response to this is to run all the way around ringside to grab Stokely and roll him into the pin to break it up and Dax is furious. Stokely tries to turn it on Paul Turner and shoves him several times, so Paul shoves him back and he bumps to the floor.
- Dax eats a spear, Cash breaks it up; Cash piledrives Copeland but Dax is still too gassed to make a cover. Cash now goes for a chair; Christian is here to intercept it and I guess is now willing to get disqualified. Stokely grabs it as he goes to swing it so Christian runs him into the post. He goes to charge Stokely with it but Cash shoves him into the post and he eats it chair-first. Cash then just shitcans Christian over the railing into the timekeeper's area and Christian is just dead for the rest of the match.
- Copeland's a house of fire 2-on-1 with FTR. He gets cut off and they do a shitty superkick party and go for the "FTR Trigger" but Cope ducks and double spears them off the ropes. He goes for another spear on Cash but gets sunset flipped and eats a second Shatter Machine for the 3 count.
- WILLOW NIGHTINGALE backstage. She says that if Kamille wanted a title shot, all she needed to do was ask. They'll face at Spring BreakThru Dynamite.
- Order of entrants in the Casino Gauntlet match:
- No. 1: TOMMASO CIAMPA
- No. 2: RUSH
- No. 3: ROH Men's World Champion BANDIDO
- No. 4: SPEEDBALL MIKE BAILEY
- No. 5: EL CLON
- No. 6: "The Bastard" PAC
- No. 7: DANIEL GARCIA
- No. 8: ANTHONY BOWENS
- No. 9: "The Jet" KEVIN KNIGHT
- No. 10: WHEELER YUTA
- El Clon enters, and after fending off attacks from Rush and Ciampa, tears the velcro off the area around his eyes, revealing them for the first time. It kinda looks like he's got the Lio Rush contacts in.
- Speedball and Jet are working together for most of this; they tease a standoff when everyone else is cleared out of the ring, but get cut off when PAC and Danny pull them off the apron.
- Bandido goes for a tope onto the entire roster on the floor but El Clon catches him into an overhead belly-to-belly and everyone dies. For some reason Kevin Knight is getting up on the top turnbuckle while everyone is already down. Ciampa cuts him off and they jockey for position before he suplexes Jet onto everyone EXCEPT Speedball and PAC. PAC throws Speedball into the ring and hits the Black Arrow for a 2 when Ciampa wipes him out with the running knee; Yuta pulls Ciampa out to the floor.
- Danny's now got Speedball in the Dragontamer and that shit's in deep but Kevin Knight fucking SMASHES him with a UFO Splash that gets him the pinfall.
- Thekla kind of grabs the rope as she's pinning Jamie but it's like 2.6 when she grabs it so I don't buy that it really helped her much anyway. Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter are protesting the pinfall decision afterwards, but Stephon Smith is not changing his mind. I would like to get a climactic finish to a big women's title match once in a while
- The no. 1 contender to the AEW Men's World Champion DARBY ALLIN backstage with Renee Paquette. Darby says that Dynamite is in Everett, WA, the same place he started his wrestling career, so he's planning on cashing in his title shot on Wednesday.
- The Conglomeration's entrance is sitcom-style on the stage. KYLE O'REILLY comes through the door, asking if someone said "Conglomeration." Nobody said it, so he says it himself. We have our third man.
- Lot of fuckery in the main. Maybe someday I will come back and add to this recap but in real time there's two and a half hours until Dynamite and I don't really feel like going back and rewatching the whole thing right now
